SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State football’s final nonconference game at Northern Illinois on Saturday, Sept. 27 will start at 2:30 p.m. CT (12:30 p.m. PT) and will air on ESPN+ as announced Monday.
The Sept. 27 matchup at NIU will be Aztec's first time playing in the Central Time Zone since Dec. 21, 2021, at the Tropical Smoothie Bowl in Frisco, Texas. That game featured a showdown with the then 24th ranked Road Runners of UTSA. The Aztecs would prevail with a final score of 38-24, earning them a place in the final Top 25 AP Poll of the year, coming in at 25th.
The Aztecs enter this week with a 1-1 record with California slated to visit Snapdragon Stadium on Sept. 20. Meanwhile, Northern Illinois also currently owns a 1-1 record and will head to Starkville, Mississippi on Sept. 20 to face Mississippi State.
SDSU is set to begin Mountain West play on Oct. 3 against Colorado State at 7:30 p.m. PT at Snapdragon Stadium.
