SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State has announced its gameday promotions for Thursday’s football season opener against the visiting Seawolves from Stony Brook University. The game is set to kickoff at 7 p.m. PT and will be broadcasted live on KUSI and the Mountain West Network.

In honor of the new season and school year, Thursday’s game will serve as San Diego State Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day in which all faculty and staff members will be able to receive discounted tickets. Along with honoring the universities employees, Thursday will serve as a night of recognition for the United States Marine Corps.

The River Block Party, presented by Snapdragon, will open at 2 p.m. featuring both a DJ and a live band performing on stage. Other activations at the block party include a Kids Zone with a prize wheel, temporary tattoos, food and beverage options, big screen TVs with other college football games playing and a Mystery Grab Bag giveaway, that starts at 4:30 p.m., while supplies last. San Diego State Students will also have the opportunity to grab a free t-shirt while supplies last to show off their support for the Aztecs during the 2025 season!

The Warrior Walk will begin at 4:45 p.m., offering fans the perfect opportunity to cheer on the team as they exit the buses and walk into Snapdragon Stadium where they will gear up to take on the Seawolves!

At halftime students will have the opportunity to head over to the North Concourse to keep Snapdragon Stadium rocking at the Aztec Halftime Party hosted by DJ D-Rock!

The Aztec’s first Honor Warrior of the year is Bill Hammett. Hammett has been a staple around the San Diego State football team, first as a player and then as a long-time supporter of Aztec football. A second-generation SDSU football player, Hammett lettered two years with the Aztecs in 1999-2000 after spending two years at Grossmont College in 1997 and 1998 and a redshirt season at Akron in 1996. For his SDSU career, he caught 18 passes for 186 yards. In addition to a successful professional career in the health insurance industry, Bill helped establish the Aztec Football Legacy alumni chapter and most recently has been the Director of Events for Aztec Link – an official NIL partner of SDSU. Hammett has been instrumental in San Diego State hosting its football alumni golf tournament each year with proceeds directly benefitting the football program and student-athletes.
