SAN DIEGO -- The Aztec football home opener against Stony Brook is set for 7 p.m. PT Thursday, and San Diego State athletics wants to make sure fans are prepared for their fourth year of Snapdragon Stadium. Check out the list below for updated gameday experiences and procedures, including construction, which will impact both the Orange & Purple parking lots.
More details and updates will be posted throughout the season on GoAztecs.com.
Construction to Alter Traffic Flow and Pedestrian Access
San Diego State has begun construction of Avalon Mission Valley, the SDSU Mission Valley development project. As a result, the Purple and Orange Lots east of Snapdragon Stadium will be impacted during all six Aztec football home games this season. Temporary protected sidewalks will guide you safely in and out of the Orange & Purple lots. Designated pathways will be available at the following locations: North of Jacaranda and Sycamore - through the Purple Lot; From the Orange Lot directly to the stadium on the south side of the construction site; Sidewalk access on the south side of the construction site; Barriers will separate pedestrians and vehicles for safety. Additionally, Jacaranda Street will be closed, affecting both inbound and outbound traffic to the Orange & Purple lots. Fans are encouraged to allow extra time when arriving and exiting.
What’s New at Snapdragon Stadium in 2025
Construction to alter Orange & Purple lots in 2025 among other new things happening this season at Snapdragon Stadium.
Danger Zone
A new tradition is coming to Aztec football gameday. At the conclusion of the third quarter, the Danger Zone will start. As head coach Sean Lewis recently described it at a press conference, “The Danger Zone comes from thinking from the staff, how do we do something that is unique and ties the community and fanbase into the importance of the fourth quarter. All through summer conditioning, we’ve had certain phases on certain days where it has been the Danger Zone area or Danger Zone quarter that we want to win. It’s one of our goals as a program, that we are going to win the Danger Zone. We need the community and everyone at Snapdragon Stadium to help us with that. (Our goal) is to have everyone on The Mesa and everyone down in Mission Valley to know that it’s the fourth quarter and it’s the Danger Zone, and the Aztecs are going to win it.”
Mini-Plans
For the first time, fans can now build their own three-game mini-plan completely online. Fans can choose from any of SDSU’s six home games and save on single-game fees. Fans can also leverage their three-game mini-plans into becoming a season-ticket member. For example, purchasing an Orange Mini-Plan puts you just $39 away from becoming a season-ticket member. Coming Back
River Block Party
Back for a second season will be the popular River Park Block Party. The River Park Block Party opens five hours before kickoff for each Aztec football home game. A DJ will play for two hours before a live musical performance takes the stage three hours before kickoff. The party closes 30 minutes before each home game, giving fans ample time to get inside to cheer on the Aztecs. There is also food trucks and concessions, full service tailgating and more. For more on the River Park Block Party, click here.
Warrior Walk
The Warrior Walk, in its new location for a second straight year, will parade through all the action in the River Park and the Yellow Lot beginning two hours and 15 minutes before kickoff. Fans, friends and family members are encouraged to cheer on the team as they exit the buses and walk north toward Snapdragon Stadium. Fans can mingle with the San Diego State spirit squads, including cheerleaders, dance team and band, before watching the Aztecs get ready to do battle inside the stadium.
Parking
The parking lots open five hours before kickoff while the stadium gates open two hours prior. There are both large and small parking options available. A reminder that on-site parking is limited, and SDSU season ticket members have priority access. For more information on parking or to buy your single-game or season parking pass, click here.
