SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women’s soccer will take on the Nevada Wolf Pack on September 18 at 7 p.m. PT on the SDSU Sports Deck, the team announced today. The non-conference match will not count towards Mountain West standings for either team.

SDSU holds a 14-2-0 advantage in the all-time series against the Wolf Pack (8-0 in San Diego) including a 5-0 win on September 26 last season in the first fall match that Nevada played on the Sports Deck since 2019. Denise Castro had a brace in that match while Mia Lane picked up the first three points of her career with a goal and an assist in 16 minutes. Boston Girman also scored the first goal of her career in that match and Riley Gumm had her first assist as well.

Since Nevada joined the Mountain West in 2012, the teams have squared off every season except for 2022. The Aztecs and Wolf Pack also met in 2002 and 2003 with San Diego State winning both matches. Through the spring 2021 campaign, SDSU had won all 13 matches against Nevada. The Wolf Pack earned one-goal wins in fall 2021 and 2023 before last season’s 5-0 San Diego State victory. Nevada is one of two Mountain West teams this season, along with Air Force, that San Diego State will not face in conference play following the conference’s addition of Grand Canyon.

The Nevada match will now occupy the middle slot in a three-match homestand to finish non-conference competition with matches against UC Riverside on September 14 and Hawai’i on September 21 ahead of SDSU’s conference opener at Grand Canyon on September 25. Admission to all matches on the SDSU Sports Deck is free.
