Women’s Tennis Receives ITA Academic Team and Individual Honors

San Diego State women’s tennis has earned ITA All-Academic Team honors for the 2024-25 season, in addition to six student-athletes garnering ITA Scholar-Athlete distinction, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Monday.

SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women’s tennis has earned ITA All-Academic Team honors for the 2024-25 season, in addition to six student-athletes garnering Scholar-Athlete distinction, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Monday.

Ninon Martinache, Gloria Alogo, Jo-Yee Chan, Liisa Varul, Charlotte Roesch and Vesa Gjinaj were each recognized for their success in the classroom with their first career ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades. Earning scholar-athlete status requires a grade-point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year.

The Aztecs were also recognized as an All-Academic Team, which is open only to programs with a cumulative team GPA of 3.20 or higher.

San Diego State finished the year as the regular season Mountain West Champions with a 17-7 record and nine conference victories, which is its most in league history.
