Maijorov and Kleber Earn ITA Scholar-Athlete Accolades

Two members of the San Diego State men’s tennis team have been named ITA Scholar-Athletes for the 2024-25 season, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Monday.

SAN DIEGO – Two members of the San Diego State men’s tennis team have been named ITA Scholar-Athletes for the 2024-25 season, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Monday.

Freshmen Denis Maijorov and Marc Kleber excelled in the classroom in their first year at San Diego State, earning their first career academic honors. To receive scholar-athlete distinction requires a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher for the current academic year.

In their freshmen campaigns, Maijorov posted eight singles victories and nine in doubles, while Kleber tallied three wins in singles and six in doubles for the Aztecs.
