SAN DIEGO – San Diego State head softball coach Stacey Nuveman Deniz has announced the team added a pair of right-handed pitchers from Fresno State: Faith Jordan and Key-annah Campbell-Pu’a.

On the addition of Jordan, Nuveman Deniz said, “We are excited to welcome Faith Jordan to our program. She brings with her two years of Division 1 and Mountain West conference experience and will add an important piece to our pitching staff. Faith hails from the Pacific Northwest, where many great pitchers have been developed, and we look forward to her contributions as we aim for another Mountain West championship in 2026.”

Jordan played both her previous seasons at Fresno State. As a freshman in 2024, she pitched 19.2 innings, going 0-1 with a 5.34 ERA in 14 appearances (five starts) without allowing any triples or home runs. Jordan got off to a great start to the season in 2025, pitching 63.2 innings with a 5-3 record, four saves and a 2.64 ERA. She started in nine of her 24 appearances, striking out 34 batters and allowing just six of the 16 runners she inherited to score. Against San Jose State on March 29, Jordan suffered a season-ending injury and missed the rest of the season including all five of Fresno State’s games against San Diego State.

When talking about Campbell-Pu’a, Nuveman Deniz stated, “Key-annah Campbell-Pu’a will be joining the Aztecs this fall, and we are excited to have her as part of our program. Key is a competitor with three years of experience under her belt and will be a mature and seasoned veteran on our pitching staff. We anticipate her making a significant contribution to the success of our team this coming season and can’t wait to have her leading our team from the circle.”

Campbell-Pu’a began her collegiate career at Hawai’i, playing for the Rainbow Wahine in 2023 and 2024 before making the move to Fresno State for the 2025 season. During her freshman season in 2023, Campbell-Pu’a went 11-8 with a 3.06 ERA in 109.2 innings. She started in 19 of her 21 games and struck out 47 hitters. The highlight of her season was a no-hitter against Montana on February 19. She retired the first 15 hitters of the game and would go on to face the minimum (21) while going the distance. In her sophomore year, Campbell-Pu’a started 18 games, going 6-9 with a 4.18 ERA in 83.2 innings. The Nipomo, California, native improved her numbers after jumping over to Fresno State last season. She pitched to a 2.79 ERA in 80.1 innings with an 8-8 record and two saves in 33 appearances (14 starts). Notably, Campbell-Pu’a appeared in four of Fresno State’s five games against the Aztecs, helping the Bulldogs to become the only team ranked outside the top 12 in the nation to beat SDSU on The Mesa. She picked up the decision in both games of a split doubleheader on April 2, allowing two runs in 3.1 innings in the first game before pitching 2.1 scoreless innings in the latter game. On the final day of the Mountain West Tournament, Campbell-Pu’a pitched a combined 7.1 innings and allowed just two runs across the Aztecs’ pair of 3-1 wins over Fresno State to clinch the Mountain West Tournament title.
