SAN DIEGO – San Diego State’s Maya Benita and Stephanie Barbaglia have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team.

The CSC Academic All-District team honors the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, maintain a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), and compete in 70 percent of tournaments that were team scoring events or be in the lineup during a conference championship.

Barbaglia holds a 3.55 cumulative GPA as a finance major. She finished as SDSU’s top golfer for the second straight season, leading the team with a 73.9 18-hole average. She started all 11 tournaments for the Aztecs and went 425-307-25 and had a count percentage of 85.5%.

Benita had an impressive 3.95 GPA while working towards an advanced investment certificate. This followed came after her four years at the University of Arizona where she graduated as their Athletics Valedictorian after having a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA as a finance major and Spanish minor. Benita appeared in every tournament in the spring and averaged 75.11 strokes per 18 holes, good for third best on the team in that span.
