COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Five San Diego State track and field athletes were named to the 2025 Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Team across six events, the league announced Wednesday. All-conference selections go to the top-3 finishers in each individual and relay event at the MW Outdoor Championships, which took place last weekend in Clovis, California.
The six Aztecs named all-conference include Shaquena Foote (200 and 400 meters), Jada Pierre (100 meters and 100-meter hurdles), Charlize James (100 hurdles), Peyton Bedrosian (pole vault) and Lauren Harper (800 meters). The six led SDSU to a fourth-place finish at the meet with 90 points.
Both Foote and Pierre captured a gold medal and finished third in another event. Foote first easily won the 400 in 52.12 seconds, a full 1.24 seconds faster than the runner-up finisher. It was her third consecutive 400-meter crown and her three outdoor 400 titles are the most in MW history. Foote later came in third in the 200 in 23.28.
Pierre, meanwhile, won the 100-meter hurdles in time of 13.12, which is the sixth-fastest time in program history. It was the fifth consecutive season an Aztec won the 100 hurdles. Pierre then came in third in the 100-meter dash in 11.43, tied for the seventh-fastest time in school history.
James finished behind Pierre in the 100 hurdles in 13.29 after winning the event last year.
Bedrosian came in third in the pole vault on Friday, clearing 13 feet, 2 ½ inches (4.02 meters), becoming the 21st Aztec to break 13-00.25 (3.97m) (Sydney Ash became the 22nd to eclipse the mark).
Harper captured the bronze in the 800 in 2:05.39.
The NCAA will announce their NCAA West Regional qualifiers later this week, which will take place on May 29 and May 31 in College Station, Texas. The top 48 declared student-athletes and top 24 declared relay teams are accepted into the first-round competitions for event.
