CLOVIS, Calif. -- Jada Pierre and Shaquena Foote each won their respective events to lead San Diego State to a fourth-place finish at the 2025 Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Championships on a windy Saturday night at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, California.

Pierre first won the 100-meter hurdles in time of 13.12 seconds, which is the sixth-fastest time in program history. It was the fifth consecutive season an Aztec has won the 100-meter hurdles. Danae Dyer won the event three straight years from 2021-23 before Charlize James took the title last year. Pierre then came in third in the 100-meter dash in 11.43, tied for the seventh-fastest time in school history.

Foote, meanwhile, easily won the 400 in 52.12, a full 1.24 seconds faster than the runner-up finisher. It was her third consecutive 400-meter crown and her three outdoor 400 titles are the most in MW history. Foote later came in third in the 200 in 23.28.

James finished behind Pierre in the 100 hurdles in 13.29, while Mia Reid was fifth in the event in 13.76.

Lauren Harper captured the bronze medal in the 800 in 2:05.39 with teammate Sophia Wolf right behind her in fourth in 2:08.00.

Anna Mager ran the 10th-fastest 400-meter hurdles time in school history to take fourth place, while Aji Mbye was fifth in the 100 (11.64).

Mikaela Warr (11.72) and Laraigh Allen (24.19) came in ninth in the 100 and 200, respectively.

SDSU saw its four-year streak of winning the 4x100 snapped as this year’s time of 45.23 was good enough for fourth. The 4x400 relay team closed the meet in sixth in 3:44.96.

San Diego State finished with 90 points to take fourth out of 11 teams, trailing only New Mexico (153), Colorado State (112) and Fresno State (99).

San Diego State will await NCAA Regional selections, which will be announced next week.
