WALNUT, Calif. -- Shaquena Foote finished fifth in the invitational 400-meter run and anchored a fifth-place 4x100 relay team to lead the San Diego State track and field team on the final day of the Mt. SAC Relays Saturday in Walnut, California.
Foote, who garnered second-team All-America honors in the indoor 400 last month after taking 14th at the NCAA Indoor Championships, ran a time of 52.74 seconds today in her first outdoor 400 of the season to take fifth out of 19 runners. She later anchored the Aztecs to a fifth-place finish out of 16 teams in the invitational 4x100 in 44.67 along with Mikaela Warr, Jada Pierre and Aji Mbye.
Charlize James (13.71) and Pierre (14.24) came in 14th and 18th, respectively, in the invitational 100 hurdles, and Mbye finished her day in the invitational 200, taking 18th in 24.69.
After competing across two meets for four days, SDSU next competes at the BYU Invitational, April 30-May 1, in Provo, Utah.
