The Aztecs enter the match with a 6-9 overall record and 0-1 in conference play. This will be the first Mountain West opponent the Scarlet and Black have faced since playing at Utah State on Feb. 16. Coming off a 5-2 loss to Wichita State last Friday, the Aztecs are looking to get back in the win column since taking down Tulane 4-2 on March 8.

The Rebels are 6-6 overall and 0-0 in the Mountain West, most recently earning a 4-2 win over Wichita State on Monday.

Leading the Rebels in singles is Illia Maksymchuk, who holds a 6-3 record when playing in the top spot. In doubles, Maksymchuk has paired up with both Roberto Hernandez and Arda Kemal Karakas on court one, earning three wins with each.

Last time the two teams met in April 2024, the Aztecs captured a 5-2 victory in the team’s third conference win of the season.

Following Friday’s match, the Aztecs will host their final non-conference opponent on April 3, welcoming Grand Canyon to the Aztec Tennis Center for an 11 a.m. contest.
