SAN DIEGO – No. 20 San Diego State water polo’s Mimi Stoupas is the Golden Coast Conference (GCC) Player of the Week for the week ending March 16. The announcement was made at the conference office on Thursday morning.
In four games at last weekend’s Aztec invitational, Stoupas scored 10 goals, with one assist, three steals, two blocks and 12 ejections drawn. She scored multiple goals in three of the four games the Aztecs played, including at least a hat trick in two, with a single-game best four scores versus No. 17 Indiana.
Against No. 12 Princeton, in the team’s opening game of the event, the native of Melbourne, Australia, had two goals and an assist, drew three exclusions, to go along with a steal and block in an 11-10 loss.
Versus No. 23 CSUN, Stoupas’ three goals led the team, she drew a team-best two exclusions and had a block in the squad’s 16-12 victory.
In the Bucknell contest, an 11-7 win for the Scarlet and Black, she scored once, drew a game-high four exclusions and stole the ball twice.
In San Diego State’s final game of the event, a 14-8 defeat against No. 17 Indiana, Stoupas struck for a game-best four goals and drew three exclusions.
This is Stoupas’ first weekly GCC honor of her college career, the second for an Aztec during the 2025 campaign and San Diego State is one of two GCC programs to collect multiple GCC Player of the Week honors this season.
