SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women’s tennis is back in action this weekend, hosting No. 25 Baylor on Saturday and Denver on Sunday. First serves are set for 10 a.m.

The Scarlet and Black enter the weekend with a 2-1 record, first welcoming No. 25 Baylor. With a 4-1 record on the season, the Bears have secured wins over Harvard, BYU, Nebraska and Denver. Leading Baylor in doubles are Liubov Kosetenko and Cristina Tiglea, who currently sit at No. 14 in the ITA doubles rankings.

The last matchup between the two programs was on May 5, 2013 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, which the No. 20-ranked Bears won 4-1.

Following Saturday’s match, the Aztecs will take on Denver in a Sunday matinee. The Pioneers are 1-4 with a win over South Florida and losses to Colorado, TCU, Nebraska and Baylor.

This will be just the second meeting of the Aztecs and the Pioneers. San Diego State is 1-0 in the series with a 5-2 victory on March 17, 2011.

Last time out, the Aztecs knocked off Grand Canyon University 5-1 in an ITA Kickoff Weekend consolation match in Berkeley, Calif. after they were bested 4-0 by No. 12 Oklahoma in the first round.
