SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The San Diego State women’s golf team finished in 10th place at the Causeway Invitational at Sacramento’s Del Paso Country Club.
Maya Benita, who played as an individual, led the Aztecs with a career-low one-over-par 217. She finished strong, shooting a one-under-par 71 in her final round which tied her career-low 18-hole score. On Tuesday, she had just two bogeys and three birdies. Benita tied for ninth place overall.
Stephanie Barbaglia tied for 23rd with a four-over-par 220. She had a consistent tournament, shooting a 73-74-73. On Tuesday, she had 15 pars to go with one birdie and two bogeys.
Kylie Phi finished third among Aztecs with a six-over-par 222, which ties her career-low 54-hole score. She carded a two-over-par 74 on Tuesday.
Ema Narita had her best round of the tournament on Tuesday, shooting a one-over-par 73 that was aided by four birdies, including three in a five-hole stretch (2-6).
Nikki Kato finished with a 233 (+17) after shooting an 80 on Tuesday, while Emilia Omander finished outside the scoring in the third round with an 82 and finished with a 234 (+18).
Oregon State won the tournament with a 12-under-par 853. The Beavers’ Kyra Ly took home the individual title by seven strokes with a 16-under-par 200
