SAN DIEGO – San Diego State track and field heads to Albuquerque, N.M. for their final tune-up of the season before conference championships at the end of the month.
- The Aztecs will send 23 student-athletes, totaling 39 entries for the weekend.
- Among the teams SDSU will compete against are No. 3 Oregon, No. 5 Stanford, No. 6 BYU, No. 13 Washington, No. 25 New Mexico, No. 27 Northern Arizona, No. 28 UTEP, along with Mountain West foes Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Nevada, San Jose State, Wyoming and UNLV among many more collegiate and professional programs.
- Last time out, SDSU was in the ‘little apple’ competing in the DeLoss Dodds Invitational hosted by Kansas State. At the meet, Aztecs recorded a school record, two class records and two all-timetop ten marks.
- In her San Diego State debut, Sophia Wolf ran a personal best 2:07.09 in the 800m run for a new program record besting teammate Lauren Harper’s time back in 2002.
- Jenna Fee Feyerabend competed in her first indoor pentathlon since the 2023 NCAA Indoor Championships and totaled 4,169 points. The total ranks first in the MW, first in the West Region and eighth nationally while also setting an SDSU junior class record.
- Hannah Waller also had a tremendous weekend at Kansas State, improving on her second-ranked long jump mark in the SDSU record books which ranks third in the west region.
- Head Coach Shelia Burrell is in her 16th season at the helm of the program. Since taking over, SDSU has finished top three at the MW championships every year except one, including winning the title in 2013.
- The Aztecs finished second in the Mountain West Indoor Championships last year, their third runner-up finish in the last four conference championship meets.
- Eight Aztecs earned all-Mountain West honors last year, their fourth consecutive season of at least seven honorees. Of the eight, six return for the 2025 season including gold medal winners Hannah Waller (60m) and Shaquena Foote (400m).
- Last year, SDSU had 22 marks etched into the indoor record books, including four school records. This year, the Aztecs have recorded 13 more program top ten marks.
