MANHATTAN, Kan. – San Diego State track and field began competition in Kansas participating in five events on day one of the DeLoss Dodds Invitational hosted by Kansas State.
The day started with the pentathlon and Jenna Fee Feyerabend. In her first indoor multis event since the 2023 NCAA Championships, the junior totaled 4,169 points across the five events for a SDSU junior class record and a fourth-place finish in the standings.
Her best events placement-wise were the high jump and shot put finishing fourth in each, clearing a season best 1.73m (5-8) in high jump and launching the weight 13.42m (44-0.5) to match her season mark. She also had a season best in long jump at 5.78m (18-11.75). The five-event multi ended with a PR in the 800m crossing the line 2:22.19.
Jordan Leveque had a career day in pole vault, clearing the bar at 3.97m (13-0.25) on her third attempt. A personal best, she climbs the San Diego State all-time rankings becoming the 17th different Aztec to clear 13 feet in the indoor event.
Long jump also saw record book movement from Hannah Waller. The senior improved on her number two all-time rank with a personal best jump of 6.37m (20-10.75) on her first jump of the finals. She would place runner-up behind Baylor’s Alexis Brown who set a meet and facility record.
Freshman Pavana Nagaraj competed alongside Waller in the finals after a collegiate best jump of 5.86m (19-2.75) on her third attempt. She finished seventh overall in the field of 17 competitors.
The final event of the evening was the 200m dash featuring seven Aztecs. Leading the charge was top ten nationally ranked Shaquena Foote. The junior dominated her section with a 23.46, the second fastest time of the meet. Aji Mbye won her section as well with a time of 24.19, the sixth fastest time overall.
San Diego State concludes the DeLoss Dodds Invitational tomorrow afternoon with events beginning at 2 p.m. CT (12 p.m. PT) at the Cliff Rovelto Indoor Track.
