SAN DIEGO – The San Diego men’s soccer team (10-4-3, 7-0-1) shutout Air Force 2-0 in the regular season finale to complete their undefeated WAC season and clinch the regular season championship.
The Aztecs went 7-0-1 in conference play and shut out their opponent in six of their eight matches. This is San Diego State’s first conference championship in school history.
SDSU outshot Air Force 17-5 and allowed just one shot on goal.
The Aztecs scored in the 29th minute on a Terence Okoeguale penalty kick. This came after Robbie Matei was taken down in the box.
SDSU scored again in the 55th minute when Reid Fisher headed in a cross from Austin Brummett. This was Fisher’s first goal of the season.
Djibril Doumbia, the reigning WAC Goalkeeper of the Week, recorded his fourth straight shutout.
