RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The San Diego State women’s basketball team improved to 5-0 with a 78-66 win at California Baptist Wednesday evening.
“It’s always big when you can win on the road,” Head coach Stacie Terry-Hutson said after the game. “California Baptist is a really good program, and I’m really excited about the win and how hard we fought.”
Following the theme of the season so far, the Aztecs received contributions up and down the lineup with seven players scoring at least seven points and none more than Veronica Sheffey’s 13.
Jazlen Green scored a season-high 11 points, Kim Villalobos had 10 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three blocks, Adryana Quezada had nine points and seven rebounds, freshman Nat Martinez had eight points, and a team-high five assists and Cali Clark had seven points and 10 rebounds.
After a back-and-forth first quarter, the Aztecs led for the rest of the way, stretching their lead to as big as 16 points.
SDSU had just 10 turnovers and had 17 assists. They outscored the Lancers 38-22 in the paint.

San Diego State’s seven three-pointers was a season-high.

The Aztecs’ scored 34 bench points. They have scored at least 30 points off the bench in four of their five games.
