Eight freshmen and three transfers are set to make their debut on The Mesa this spring led by Head Coach Kylee White, Associate Head Coach Brandi Padilla and Assistant Coach Rob Bray.

SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women’s lacrosse is gearing up for its 2025 season, which will feature 11 new Aztecs on the roster. Eight freshmen and three transfers are set to make their debut on The Mesa this spring led by Head Coach Kylee White, Associate Head Coach Brandi Padilla and Assistant Coach Rob Bray.

“We are thrilled to welcome the newcomers for the 2024-25 lacrosse season,” says Head Coach Kylee White. “Each player brings a unique set of skills and experience that will greatly enhance our team's overall performance. Their dedication, athleticism and commitment to excellence align perfectly with our program's culture, values and goals for this year.  It has been exciting to watch them develop and challenge our returners this fall, raising the bar for everyone. We are excited to see how they contribute to our success in the upcoming season. The future looks bright, and we can't wait to see what these talented athletes bring to the field.”

Meet the newcomers:

#0 Karli Weisser
Fr. | Goalkeeper | El Dorado Hills, Calif. | Oakridge High School
Weisser played on the 33rd ranked high school lacrosse team in the nation at Oak Ridge in El Dorado Hills, Calif. She was named to the Adrenaline All-American Team and earned Norcal All-Star honors. She was also her class president and participated in the National Charity League. Weisser is currently majoring in kinesiology and plans to pursue a nursing career.

#1 Talie Richardson
Gr. | Midfield | Southington, Conn. | Central Connecticut State University
Born in Meriden, Conn., Richardson comes to The Mesa from Central Connecticut State University where she was a two-time NEC Prime Performer, earning All-NEC Second Team honors. She was also named to the NCAA NEC Honor Roll, NCAA NEC Commissioner’s Honor Roll and Academic All-District At Large team. At Southington High School, Richardson was a four-year letterwinner, earning All-Herald Team honors as well as Central Connecticut Conference Athlete of the Week. She also spent five years with the Nor’easter Lacrosse club team. She is getting her master’s degree in business administration and plans to pursue a career in medical sales.

#9 Presley Mitchell
Fr. | Midfield | Encinatas, Calif. | La Costa Canyon High School
Born in Encinatas, Calif., Mitchell attended La Costa Canyon High School as a four-year letterwinner and three-time MVP. She earned her team’s Offensive Player of the Year award as well as First Team All-CIF honors three years in a row. Mitchell also played flag football. She is pursuing a degree in international business.

#17 Mia Maechtel
Fr. | Midfield | Whitby, Ontario | Henry High School
Born in Whitby, Ontario, Canada, Maechtel graduated from The Hill Academy where she was a two-time Athlete of the Year in lacrosse, rugby, field hockey, volleyball, badminton and tennis. She was the recipient of her school’s Legacy and Pride Awards. Maechtel also played for the Oshawa Lady Blue Knights, Whitby Warriors, Steps New Jersey, American Selects, as well as Team Ontario. She was a United LAX League points leader, champion at the All-Canada Games and runner-up at the Canada Cup. The freshman is currently pursuing a degree in biology with a minor in neuroscience. She hopes to go to dental school and become an orthodontist.

#18 Lucy Moore
Fr. | Midfield | Gurnee, Ill. | Warren Township High School
Born in Gurnee, Ill., Moore attended Warren Township High School as a four-year letterwinner. She was the first All-State girl’s lacrosse player in her school’s history in 2022 and received the recognition in 2023 and 2024 as well. Moore helped lead her team to the best record and conference standing in school history with 257 career goals, 68 assists and 236 draw controls, holding her school’s record in all categories. She has chosen to pursue a degree in children and family development with plans to become a special education teacher.

#20 Carly Sullivan
Gr. | Defense | Wilton, Conn. | Pomona-Pitzer
Sullivan comes to San Diego State from Pomona-Pitzer where she played for three years. Awards and honors include IWLCA 2024 All-American Third Team (2024), SCIAC 2024 Defensive Player of the Year, 2024 Scholar Athlete of the Year, 2023/24 First Team All-SCIAC, 2024 IWLCA First Team All-Region, 2023 IWLCA Second Team All-Region and 2023 SCIAC Championship Game MVP. Prior to her college career, Sullivan was a four-year letterwinner at Wilton High School. She is currently getting her graduate degree in economic and data science.

#24 Matty Spaeth
Jr. | Attack | Califon, NJ | Boston University
Prior to transferring to San Diego State, Spaeth spent her first two seasons at Boston University where she recorded 58 goals and seven assists. She also received Patriot League Rookie of the Week on March 14, 2022, and Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in the spring of 2023. Spaeth attended Voorhees High School in Tewksbury, New Jersey where she was a four-year letterwinner and two-sport captain in lacrosse and soccer. She recorded 145 career goals and 55 assists during her four seasons. Awards and honors include First Team All-County and First-Team All-Skyland Conference in 2021, as well as honor roll her freshman and sophomore years and high honor roll her junior and senior years. Spaeth was also part of the New Jersey Under Armour All-American Command Team as a sophomore and played for STEPS Elite club team. She is currently pursuing a degree in hospitality administration.

#25 Maya Tillman
Fr. | Defense | White Plains, NY | Greenwich Academy
Tillman grew up in Greenwich, Conn. where she attended Greenwich Academy. She was a three-year letterwinner in both lacrosse and soccer, winning a lacrosse league championship in 2024 and earning FAA Honorable Mention. Tillman is currently majoring in television, film and new media.

#26 Sophia Bruzzone
Fr. | Defense | Walnut Creek, Calif. | Carondelet High School
Born in Walnut Creek, Calif., Bruzzone graduated from Carondelet High School. She was the captain of her lacrosse team and a three-sport athlete, playing water polo and soccer as well. Bruzzone spent three years playing for the Tenacity Project club team in Utah. The freshman has chosen to major in public health at San Diego State.

#34 Keira Doyle-Odenbach
Fr. | Midfield | Orland Park, Ill. | Carl Sandburg High School
Doyle-Odenbach attended Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, Ill. where she was a highly decorated four-year letterwinner with the Eagles. She was named her team’s MVP each of the four seasons, as well as earning All-Sectional Team and First Team All-Conference honors. She was named team captain her sophomore through senior years and earned First Team All-State honors in her final two seasons. She recorded 305 career goals, 92 assists, 343 ground balls, 265 caused turnovers and 503 draw controls. Doyle-Odenbach also earned USA Lacrosse All-America and All-Academic honors in 2024. In 2022, she participated in the Under Armour 150 Combine as well as the All-America Underclass Tournament. Additionally, she played for Lakeshore Lacrosse, Summit Lacrosse Club and True Lacrosse. She graduated in the top 6% of her class and was honored with her school’s Academic Achievement Award. She is now pursuing a degree in environmental science with hopes of working in water conservation.

#46 Grace Moore
Fr. | Goalkeeper | Palos Verdes, Calif. | Palos Verdes High School
Born in Palos Verdes, Calif., Moore attended Palos Verdes High School where she was captain of the Sea Lions for two years. She holds her school’s all-time saves record with 614 during her career. Moore earned Bay League Second Team honors her freshman and sophomore years and First Team as a junior and senior, earning Defensive MVP as well. She earned USA Lacrosse All-America honors in 2022 and 2023 and was an Under Armor Player to Watch from 2022-2024. Moore received an invite to the USA National Team Combine in 2022 and 2023. She was also named the USA Lacrosse Notable Player of the Week on April 20, 2022. She is currently pursuing a degree in business real estate.
