EDINBURG, Texas – The San Diego State men’s soccer team (8-4-3, 5-0-1) remained undefeated in conference play after a 0-0 draw at UTRGV (3-6-4, 1-2-3) Thursday evening. This was the Aztecs’ second consecutive shutout and fourth since the beginning of WAC play (six matches).
"It's always tough to break downa team when they sit deep against you on their home field," Head coach Ryan Hopkins said after the match. "It shows the respect we are garnering in the league, but we have to be more clinical to take our chances if we want to come away with three points."
The teams both had seven shots and tied their output in each half with two in the first 45 minutes and five in the second frame. Austin Brummett and Jules Anderson tied for the team lead with three shots apiece.
The Aztecs held the Vaqueros without a corner kick while attempting five.
SDSU goalkeeper Djibril Doumbia made four saves and recorded his fourth shutout in the last six matches.

The Aztecs only played two substitutes: Josh Lucas (37 minutes) and Ferran Florencio Catala (8 minutes).
