Aztecs Head to Tempe for ITA Southwest Regionals

SAN DIEGO – San Diego State men’s tennis is gearing up to compete in the ITA Southwest Regional Championships in Tempe, Ariz. beginning Thursday. Hosted by Arizona State, the tournament offers an opportunity for two singles players and one doubles team to earn a bid to the 2024 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships in November.

The singles round of 64 will kick off at 9 a.m. PT with freshman Louis Chusseau representing the Aztecs in a matchup against ASU’s Finn Willwerth.

Alexander Mandma and Mathieu Josserand will each take a bye into the round of 32, which will get underway at noon. Mandma will face off against the winner of Angus Hill (Hawai’i) vs Sean Ferguson (Cal Poly) and Josserand will take on either John Cross (Cal Poly) or Santiago Padilla Cote (Arizona).

Last outing, the Aztecs competed in the Mountain West Fall Qualifier in Las Vegas where they picked up three main draw wins, advancing Josserand and Mandma to the doubles quarterfinals.
