LAS VEGAS – Adryana Quezada of the San Diego State women’s basketball team was named to the Preseason All-Mountain West Team, the conference announced ahead of Wednesday’s Media Day in Las Vegas.

The Aztecs, who are coming off a run to the Mountain West Championship game last season, were picked to finish fifth in the preseason poll and picked up two first place votes.

Quezada, a sixth year forward, led the Aztecs in scoring and rebounding last year, averaging 14 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. She shot 53% from the field and was an All-Mountain West selection.

Last year, the Frisco, Texas native became the first Aztec in the Mountain West era (25 years) to shoot over 50% from the floor and over 80% from the line. She has over 1,300 points and 600 rebounds in her career.

San Diego State has won at least 22 games in each of the last two seasons. For the 2024-25 season, they have seven letterwinners returning. All seven are in their fourth year of college or later and four of them are in their fifth year or later, including Quezada and Kim Villalobos, an All-Mountain West honorable mention selection last year.

The Aztecs were one of just 21 schools in the nation not to have a player enter the transfer portal.

UNLV, the reigning champion, was picked to finish first and had 21 of the 30 first place votes. Wyoming (251 points), Colorado State (248) and Boise State (221) were picked to finish ahead of the Aztecs.

The remaining poll was New Mexico (6th, 172), Nevada (125), Air Force (116), Fresno State (109), San Jose State (60) and Utah State (41).

Colorado State’s Emma Ronsiek, a transfer from Creighton, was named the Preseason Co-Player of the Year with Wyoming’s Allyson Ferig, and the Preseason Newcomer of the Year. The Rams also had the preseason freshman of the year with Kloe Froebe.
