SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State men’s soccer team (3-3-2) played UC Davis (4-2-2) to a 3-3 draw in front of a program record breaking crowd of 3,802 fans at Snapdragon Stadium Saturday evening.

All three of the Aztec goals gave them the lead only to see the Aggies come back to tie it up each time. Austin Brummett, Terence Okoeguale and Robbie Matei all scored and Okoeguale and Matei each had an assist.

“What a night for college soccer in San Diego,” Head coach Ryan Hopkins said after the match. “We really appreciate the support from the school and the fans, helping us set another school record with nearly 4,000 fans here tonight.”

The Aztecs wasted no time, scoring their first goal just 16 seconds into the match when assists from Matei and Daniel Pacella set up an Austin Brummett goal. Brummett leads the team with four goals on the year.

The Aggies tied it up in the 30th minute on a goal from Kegan Walwyn-Bent, his first of two on the night.

In the final minute of the first half, both teams traded goals. First the Aztecs scored with 47 seconds left in the half when Okoeguale finished an assist from Ulises Esquivel.

Just 17 seconds later, UC Davis answered with a bender from the corner from Declan Horio.

SDSU retook the lead in the 55th minute when Matei and Okoeguale connected on a give-and-go.
