Aztecs Take Fifth Place at Golf and Leadership Invitational

The Aztecs were led by Stephanie Barbaglia who fired a career-low three-under-par 213 and tied for sixth overall.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – The San Diego State women’s golf team took fifth place (out of 16) at Leadership and Golf Invitational played at Chambers Bay Golf Course Tuesday. The Aztecs were led by Stephanie Barbaglia who fired a career-low three-under-par 213 and tied for sixth overall.

Barbaglia once again paced the Aztecs in the final round, shooting a two-over-par 74 after shooting a career-best 67 in the second round. Barbaglia has shot exactly a 213 in her last three tournaments, dating back to last year, and has finished in the top 10 every time.

Ema Narita tied for 22nd with a four-over-par 220. She had the second-best score among Aztecs Tuesday with a three-over-par 75.

Anika Sato and Kylie Phi both finished with a 228. Sato shot a four-over-par 76 Tuesday while Phi finished with a 79.

Nikki Kato shot a 79 as well in her final round as well and finished a stroke behind Sato and Phi with a 229.

THE NOTE

The Aztecs have finished in the top six in each of their last three tournaments, dating back to last year
