Aztecs in Fourth Place After Two Rounds at Chambers Bay

The Aztecs shot a one-over-par 577 (290-287). SDSU’s second round 287 would’ve tied for their second-best round of the entire 2023-24 season.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – The San Diego State women’s golf team sits in fourth place after two rounds at the Leadership and Golf Invitational played at Chambers Bay Golf Course.

The Aztecs shot a one-over-par 577 (290-287). SDSU’s second round 287 would’ve tied for their second-best round of the entire 2023-24 season.

San Diego State was led by Stephanie Barbaglia’s five-under-par 139, which puts her in fourth place. After shooting an even par 72 in her first round, she shot a career-low five-under-par 67 in her second round. Her 67 ties for the ninth-best score in school history. Her second round was highlighted by an eagle on the eighth hole and five birdies.

Ema Narita is tied for 20th after shooting a one-over-par 145. She shot an even par in the first round and then a one-over-par 73 in her second.

Freshman Kylie Phi hit the ground running in her college debut with a three-under-par 69 in her opening round before finishing outside the scoring in the second round with an 80. She had just one bogey in her first round to go with three birdies.

Nikki Kato shot a career-low even par 72 in her second round after firing a 78 in the first round to finish a six-over-par 150.

 

Anika Sato is eight-over-par with a 152 (77-75).
