Aztecs Tripped Up at Oregon State

The San Diego State men’s soccer team (3-3-1) lost at Oregon State (3-2-1) 4-1 Sunday afternoon.

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The San Diego State men’s soccer team (3-3-1) lost at Oregon State (3-2-1) 4-1 Sunday afternoon.

In a match that featured former Pac-12 foes, the Beavers jumped out to a 2-0 lead. The Aztecs scored in the 50th minute, but then Oregon State responded with a pair of goals in the 64th and 66th minute.

The Beavers scored in the 7th minute when Sergi Solans finished an assist from Fabian Straudi and Ellis Spikner.

Oregon State extended their lead in the 25th minute with another Solans goal.

The Aztecs got on the scoreboard early in the second half after Terence Okoeguale converted a penalty kick.

However, the Beavers put the game out of reach with goals in the 64th and 66th minute, the latter coming on a penalty kick.

Djibril Doumbia, who got the start in goal for the injured Eddy Vargas, made four saves.

THE NOTE
The Aztecs had played Oregon State to a draw in their last two matches in Corvallis.
