SDSU Track and Field Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

San Diego State track and field has been named an all-academic team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Sameerah Evans, Jenna Fee Feyerabend, Shaquena Foote, Rhea Hoyte, Jordan Leveque, Alex Lomeli, Jada Moore and Jada Pierre all received the award as individuals as well.

SAN DIEGO – San Diego State track and field has been named an all-academic team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the USTFCCCA office announced Monday. Sameerah Evans, Jenna Fee Feyerabend, Shaquena Foote, Rhea Hoyte, Jordan Leveque, Alex Lomeli, Jada Moore and Jada Pierre all received the award as individuals as well.

To earn all-academic status, the team must own a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher while individuals must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher, completed two semesters at their institution and ranked in the top 96 in any NCAA indoor championship event or participate in the NCAA preliminary outdoor championships.

As a team, the Aztecs own a 3.30 cumulative GPA earning their USTFCCCA All-Academic status. They were one of nine Mountain West teams on the list.

Individually, Sameerah Evans (Business Administration), Jenna Fee Feyerabend (Journalism), Shaquena Foote (Interdisciplinary Studies), Rhea Hoyte (Business Management), Jordan Leveque (Psychology), Alex Lomeli (Kinesiology), Jada Moore (Kinesiology) and Jada Pierre (International Security and Conflict Resolution) all surpassed the 3.25 cumulative GPA threshold to earn their all-academic status.

Evans owns 3.29 cumulative GPA and competed at the west prelims in triple jump where she finished 39th with a wind-aided mark of 41 feet, 3.25 inches.

Feyerabend, who was also named a CSC Second Team Academic All-American last week, owns a 4.00 cumulative GPA and finished ninth place in the heptathlon championships for her second consecutive all-american performance.

Foote joined Feyerabend in Eugene, competing in the 400m dash, finishing 17th place overall along with her 3.41 cumulative GPA to earn all-academic status.

Hoyte owns a 3.57 cumulative GPA and competed in the NCAA west prelims in both the 400m hurdles and 4x400m relay. Her time of 59.75 in the 400mH placed her 33rd overall.

Leveque wrapped up her first year as an Aztec at the west prelims, finishing 36th in pole vault. He posted a 3.30 cumulative GPA through her first two semesters.

Lomeli raced in the 800m at the NCAA prelims, finishing 36th overall and graduates from SDSU with a 3.50 cumulative GPA.

Moore also graduated from SDSU this past spring with a cumulative GPA of 3.57 and ended her collegiate career at the NCAA prelims with 31st place finishes in both the 100m and 200m, and helped the Aztecs 4x100m relay team reach the NCAA Championships.

Pierre posted a 3.52 cumulative GPA in her first year as an Aztec and finished 44th in the 100m hurdles at the west prelims. She also competed at the NCAA Championship meet as part of the 4x100m relay team.
