LA JOLLA, Calif. – San Diego State began their weekend at UC San Diego's Triton Invitational on Friday with three throwers competing in the javelin and hammer throws. Rain spoiled some of the meet's opening day action cancelling the triple jump and pole vault.

Jenna Fee Feyerabend, Thaila Wilson and Keira Bennett all competed in javelin with Bennett handling double duties in hammer as well.

Feyerabend led the trio with a mark of 42.85m (140-7) on her first attempt of the day. The mark was good to win flight number two and ultimately earn her a spot in the finals for three extra throws. She wound up finishing sixth overall.

Wilson also qualified for the finals with a throw of 38.03m (124-9) on her second attempt of the day. She placed seventh in flight number three and ninth overall.

Bennett started her day in flight one of the hammer throw, posting a mark of 39.22m (128-8) on her first attempt. She placed sixth in the flight and 30th overall. The true freshman quickly transitioned over to javelin where her second attempt went 28.59m (93-9) for her best mark to finish fourth in flight one and 23rd overall.

Sameerah Evans was entered to participate in triple jump but was scratched due to the rainy conditions. The rain also cancelled the entirety of women's pole vault for the quartet of Sydney Ash, Jordan Leveque, Lily Mulligan and Kayla Tassara.

San Diego State will continue their weekend at the Triton Invitational tomorrow. The 4x100m relay at 10 a.m. will be their first event on the track while the shot put will be their first field event of the day at 2:30 p.m.
