Aztecs Tie for Third in Wyoming Cowgirl Classic

MARICOPA, Ariz. – The San Diego State women's golf team finished the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic on Thursday. The Aztecs tied for third place, their best finish of the season, after shooting a 877. The team was led by Stephanie Barbaglia, who had her best individual finish as she tied for fourth at three-under-par.
 
Barbaglia shot an even 72 today to reach a 213 for the tournament. She had a pair of birdies in the third round.


Emma Narita led the Aztecs on Thursday by shooting a two-under-par 70 in the final round to finish with a two-over-par 218 and tie for 16th. On the back nine of her final round, Narita had two birdies and seven pars to finish the tournament strong.
 
Anika Sato tied for 24th place and was one stroke behind Narita. Her score was even on the final day of the tournament.
 
Playing as an individual, Anna Lina Otten tied for 27th with a 221. She had two birdies and seven pars on the front nine of Thursday's competition as she finished with an even score on the day.


Andrea Gomez and Nikki Kato tied for 74th and 93rd, respectively. Gomez had three birdies in a four-hole stretch in her final round to shoot a 75 and finish with a 231. Kato finished the tournament with a 236.
  
Sacramento State finished in first place in the team scoring with a four-under-par 860 while New Mexico State's Emma Bunch had a nine-under-par 207 to top the individual leaderboard.

The Aztecs compete in the Mountain West Championships in Rancho Mirage, Calif., from April 16-18.
