SAN DIEGO – Emma Narita was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Narita (Tokyo, Japan) led the Aztecs last week at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic posting a six-over-par 222. She finished 24th overall in the field of 90 golfers.
The freshman shot a team-low of 70 in the first round and followed it with a 77 and 75 to close out the tournament.
This is San Diego State's first weekly honor of the season and their first freshman of the week honor since April 8, 2022.
The Aztecs are currently playing at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course today and tomorrow.
