Foote Named MW Track Athlete of the Week
• For the first time this outdoor season, and fourth time in 2024, Shaquena Foote was named the Mountain West Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
• The redshirt sophomore raced in two events at the Mt. SAC Relays, running a 52.17 in the 400m dash as well as running the second leg of a 43.79 4x100m relay performance.
• Both those times are fourth fastest, respectively, in program history while the 400m time also sets an SDSU sophomore class record.
Last Time Out
• San Diego State had 18 athletes for 25 total entries at last week's Mt. SAC Relays. Six of the entries were elite level entries in the 100m, 400m, 100m hurdles, 4x100m relay, and heptathlon.
• Across the four day meet, the Aztecs saw four marks enter into the record book and another is likely a NCAA Championship qualifying mark.
• Jenna Fee Feyerabend competed in her first true multis event of the season and one PR and four season bests carried her to a 5,750 point performance in the heptathlon. The total was good for a ninth place finish and ranks 10th in the nation.
• Hannah Waller made history in long jump on day three of the meet. At 6.43m (21-1.25), she became just the second different Aztec to surpass 21 feet in long jump on her way to winning the event.
• The Relays ended with three top ten marks on the final day of the meet. Foote improved her fourth-ranked 400m time and set an SDSU sophomore class record, the relay team also ran the fourth fastest time in the 4x100m, and Xiamara Young entered the top ten at number eight in triple jump.
