WALNUT, Calif. – San Diego State wrapped up their busiest day at the Mt. SAC Relays on Friday afternoon as 14 Aztecs competed throughout the day. Hannah Waller was the headliner, making history in the long jump collegiate section.

The redshirt junior jumped 6.07m on her second attempt to qualify for the event final and earn three more jumps. On her sixth and final attempt of the day, she launched 6.43m (21-1.25) catapulting her way to the front of the pack and ultimately the victory. The jump makes her just the second Aztec in history to surpass 21 feet, ranking eight inches behind SDSU hall of famer Karoline Koehler for the school record. It also sets a San Diego State junior class record.

Along with Waller, three other Aztecs recorded personal bests on the day. Olivia Hicks improved on her 100m mark, crossing the line in 11.87 seconds while Lidia Major PR'd in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.05. Back in the field events, Kayla Tassara cleared a personal best 3.65m (11-11.75) in pole vault.

Xiamara Young posted a season best in long jump of 5.93m (19-5.5) while Sameerah Evans posted a non-wind-aided season best of 12.22m (40-1.25) in triple jump. She currently owns a 42-foot wind-aided jump toward the NCAA rankings. Rhea Hoyte also had a season best, running in her first 400m hurdle race of the season, finishing with a 1:02.08.
