AZUSA, Calif. – San Diego State track and field closed out their weekend at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Saturday having 14 athletes compete throughout the final day of the meet. Jessica Kain led the way in the 1,500m breaking her own senior class record.

The Scotts Valley native ran a 4:14.07 in the invitational section. The time bests her own senior class record and number two ranked mark on the SDSU all-time list that was set earlier this season at the Aztec Invitational. She also improves on her conference leading time with just two more weekends until the Mountain West Championships. She finished 26th overall in the 175-woman field of runners.

Hannah Waller had another great performance in long jump, matching her personal best and third-ranked mark in program history. Her jump of 6.17m (20-3) was good for a second-place finish on the day leading a quartet of Aztecs in the event.

Three other Aztecs set new personal bests on the day. Olivia Hicks ran an 11.94 for a PR in the sprints while both Tatum Zinkin (4:41.44) and Sophia Nevin (4:54.50) recorded PRs in the 1,500m 'open c' section.

Melanie Falkowski ran a season best 18:09.92 in the day's first event, the 5,000m open. Xiamara Young also notched season bests in long jump at 5.91m (19-4.75) and 5.72m (18-9.25), respectively.

Next up for San Diego State will be the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. next weekend. The meet is four days long beginning on Wednesday, April 17 through Saturday, April 20.
