SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's basketball team returns to Steve Fisher Court at Viejas Arena for its final home game of the 2023-24 season facing Boise State on Friday at 7 p.m. PT. The game will be broadcast on FS1.

OFF THE BOUNCE
In a pregame ceremony six Aztecs' seniors will be honored: Cade Alger, Lamont Butler, Jaedon LeDee., Jay Pal, Micah Parrish and Darrion Trammell.
The Aztecs and Broncos are meeting for the 31st time, with SDSU holding an 18-12 advantage in the all-time series. In the Mountain West era, SDSU has a 17-12 lead in the series, is 10-3 overall and 9-3 in Viejas Arena against Boise State.

When it hosts Boise State on Friday, the Aztecs will put their 20-game home win streak, the second-longest streak in program history, on the line.

The 20-game home win streak is currently the SECOND longest active streak in the country through the games of March 2 (Drake & Houston have won 21 straight at home).

San Diego State has never gone an entire season without losing at least one home game as a Division I program (since 1970-71). When SDSU plays Boise State on Friday, the Aztecs have the opportunity to go 15-0 at home. It would be the first time San Diego State had a perfect home record since the 1966-67 season (16-0) when the program was Division II. SDSU has been perfect at home three times: 9-0 in 1926-27, 14-0 in 1955-56 and in 1966-67.

Since the start of the 2013-14 season, when the current slate of MW members was finalized, SDSU has an 88-11 (.889) record in Mountain West HOME games, the best mark in the conference.

The Aztecs are among the elite programs in the country and that includes winning on their opponent's floor. Since the beginning of the 2009-10 campaign, SDSU has the SEVENTH best road record in the nation, 106-67 (61.3 percent). Since the start of the 2019-20 campaign, SDSU has lost 17 times in 52 road games (35-17, 67.3 percent), which are the FIFTH fewest road losses in the nation trailing only Gonzaga (6 losses), Saint Mary's (12 losses) and Baylor & Houston (15 losses) and its 67.3 winning percentage in road games in that time frame is the SIXTH best in the nation.

Seven of San Diego State's eight losses have come on the road against Quad 1 opponents, and six of those seven defeats have come by nine points or less. SDSU has lost Quad 1 games by 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 & 18 points. The other loss came in its last game, 58-62, at UNLV, which is No. 76 in the NET and so is a Quad 2 loss. If the Runnin Rebels move up to at least No. 75 in the NET, that game would become a Quad 1 game.

With its 73-41 win at Fresno State (Feb. 24), Brian Dutcher has at least 21 victories in all seven seasons as head coach. Dutcher extended his school record for most consecutive 21-win seasons to start his coaching career.

San Diego State owns a 130-31 record (80.7 percent) since the start of the 2019-20 campaign. That is the THIRD best record in the nation trailing only Gonzaga (145-19, 88.4 percent) and Houston (143-25, 85.1 percent).

Once again San Diego State is one of the elite teams when it comes to challenging itself. According to Kenpom, through the games of March 6, the Aztecs have the No. 26 strength of schedule rating, including the No. 9 rated non-conference schedule. SDSU has faced the No. 19 rated schedule in opponents adjusted offensive efficiency and the No. 49 rated schedule in opponents adjusted defensive efficiency.

The Aztecs metrics rank among the best in the nation. Through the games of March 6, the Aztecs were ranked No. 19 in the NET, No. 20 in Kenpom, No. 24 in T-Rank, No. 19 in KPI and No. 32 in BPI. San Diego State's NET strength of schedule is No. 29.

At UNLV, sophomore forward Elijah Saunders compiled his second straight game, sixth of 2023-24 and sixth of his career with double digit points (14 points). His four 3-pointers are a career-high and he led the team in scoring for the first time in his career.

Senior forward Jaedon LeDee scored in double figures at UNLV.  It marked the 29th time in as many appearances this year that he has scored at least 10 points. He has 48 career double digit scoring games in his career, 40 of which have come in his 68 games wearing the Scarlet and Black kit. He led the team in rebounds for the 22nd time this season.

Senior guard Darrion Trammell logged a team-high seven assists at UNLV. It equaled his fourth best assist effort of his career and he led the team in dimes for the 13th time in 2023-24 and 80th time as a college player. In his last three games, he has 21 assists (7.0/game)

Senior wing Micah Parrish, who had 11 points at UNLV, marked his 15th game this season and 57th of his college career.

Brian Dutcher is in his seventh season as San Diego State's head coach and his 25th season on the Aztec sidelines. In his six-plus seasons as head coach, he has led the Aztecs to five conference titles, six Mountain West championship game appearances, a 173-55 (.759) overall record, the 2023 NCAA national championship game, has been named the national coach of the year, and twice the Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year.
