SAN DIEGO – The Aztec Lacrosse team returns home for four home games in ten days. To start it off, they will face No. 11 Florida on Friday, March 8 at 3 p.m. PT. They will then face Liberty on Monday, March 11 at Noon PT. Both games will be streamed on the Aztec Women's Lacrosse Youtube channel.

Aztec Tidbits

  • The Aztecs last game was a 17-14 loss against High Point in North Carolina.
  • Jenna McDermott (Westminster, Md.), in her first year at SDSU after playing at UMBC for four seasons, is tied for the most goals on the team with 13 goals and is tied for the lead on the team in free-position goals with five. She is 12th in the nation in shot percentage (0.684).
  • Sara Toner (Reston, Va.) leads the team with 15 points from 13 goals and two assists, as well as in shots (27) and shots on goal (19). She also had the game winning goal against Xavier.
  • Freshman Frankie Garcia (Newport Beach, Calif.) is tied with McDermott with five free-position goals.
  • The Aztecs have 17 assists on 67 goals, with Kate Christos (Madison, N.J.) and Brooklyne Waddell (Wilsonville, Ore.) leading the charge with four assists each.
  • Christos also leads the team in draw controls with 24.
  • Mia Kohn (San Diego, Calif.) leads the Aztecs with seven caused turnovers.
  • Goalkeeper Avery Dyer (Elkridge, Md.) made 19 saves in the game against UC Davis, the third most by a DI player so far this season and the second most in SDSU history.
  • Dyer leads the Aztecs with 11 ground balls, followed by Caitlin Boughton (South Riding, Va.) with seven.
  • Next weekend the Aztecs will have their final non-conference match-up as they face Dartmouth on March 15, and then they will have their conference opener against ASU at Snapdragon Stadium on March 17.

Sophomore Katie Colavito leads the team with 18 ground balls and is second in draw controls with 26... Three players are tied with 15 caused turnovers and they are all ranked in the top 15 in caused turnovers per game... The team leads the nation in caused turnovers per game with 16.60... Junior Goalkeeper Mara Tellers has eight saves and 26 goals allowed on 45 shots faced...
