SAN DIEGO -- Cassidy West and Cece Cellura combined on a five-hit shutout, and Mac Barbara hit her seventh home run of the season to lead San Diego State to a 2-0 victory over Colorado State Friday night at SDSU Softball Stadium. It was the fifth consecutive victory for the Aztecs (20-13, 7-2 MW) and first series sweep in Mountain West play.

West pitched the first three innings, giving up two hits and one walk, while striking out two. Only one runner got into scoring position against West as Ashley York drew a two-out walk after a dropped foul ball in the top of the third inning and Maya Matsubara followed with a single. West, however, got Peyton Allen to fly out to right field to keep the Rams (18-15, 1-7 MW) off the scoreboard.

Cellura (5-2), meanwhile, pitched the final four innings, yielding three hits and no walks. Cellura's biggest threat came in the fifth as Jailey Wilson tripled down the right-field line with one out. Cellura, however, got Morgan Crosby to line out to Katie Goldberg at third base and York to line out to Bella Espinoza in left field to keep the shutout intact.

SDSU got on the scoreboard in the first as leadoff batter Lala Macario singled, stole second and advanced to third on a groundout by Barbara. Macario then scored on a Cali Decker sacrifice fly.

San Diego State was unable to take advantage of a one-out double by Makena Brocki in the second and a leadoff double by Macey Keester in the third, as both runners were stranded on third base.

The Aztecs added an insurance run in the sixth when Barbara took a 2-2 pitch well over the right-center field wall for her seventh home run of the season.

Cellura then worked around a one-out single by Brooke Bohlender in the seventh to secure the SDSU shutout and series sweep.

Keester was 2-for-2 with a double and stolen base for San Diego State, which outhit CSU, 6-5.
