SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State men's tennis team will play the final match of its nonconference slate on Friday, March 22. The Aztecs host the Portland Pilots at 2 p.m. at the Aztec Tennis Center.
The winner of eight of its last ten matches, San Diego State (10-3) has also won eight of ten matches on The Mesa. In last weekend's San Diego Spring Invitational, SDSU dropped its opener to No. 22-ranked Arizona State but proceeded to win its remaining matches in the tournament, defeating Tulane 4-2 and Texas Tech 4-1.
SDSU's lone newcomer, Robin Parts has led the way for the Scarlet and Black this season. Parts is undefeated in singles (8-0) and also in doubles with his partner Alexander Mandma (7-0). He primarily plays on the fifth court in singles and the top court in doubles.
Portland (6-3) has won four of its last five matches by the score of 7-0 or 6-1. The Aztecs are looking to maintain a perfect all-time record against the Pilots. San Diego State is 4-0 against Portland including a 4-3 win back in 2022. SDSU has won three of its last four matches against West Coast Conference schools.
