SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's golf team is back in action Monday, playing in the annual Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational.

The 54-hole tournament will get underway Monday with 36 holes beginning with an 8:15 a.m. PT shotgun start. The next round will also begin with a shotgun start, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
 
The tournament 14-team field is very competitive, featuring four teams in the top 25 (No. 1 Stanford, No. 8 USC, No. 19 San Jose State, No. 25 Cal) and another three in the top 50 (No. 40 Washington, No. 44 Oregon State and No. 50 Denver).

Other teams competing include BYU, Colorado, Penn State, Sacramento State, San Francisco Washington State.
 
The Aztecs most recently played at the Pac-12 Preview at the Nanea Golf Club in Hawai'i. Despite the 10th place finish (out of 12), the Aztecs rose 11 in the national rankings. Since the beginning of the spring season, SDSU has risen 33 spots.
 
Head coach Lauren Dobashi (3rd season) will use the lineup of Emma Narita, Anna Lina Otten, Stephanie Barbaglia, Andrea Gomez, and Anika Sato.

Narita (Tokyo, Japan) has been the top Aztec finisher in four of SDSU's six tournaments and leads SDSU with an 18-hole average of 74.1 She led the Aztecs with a two-over-par 222 at the Pac-12 Preview, which helped her tie for 18th place.
 
Otten (Neuss, Germany) will be making her 30th career start (out of 32). She has had an incredibly consistent senior season, shooting 76 or better in 15 of her 18 rounds.
 
Barbaglia (Johannesburg, South Africa) has the team's second best 18-hole average (74.7) and has finished in the top three among SDSU golfers in all six tournaments, including a top finish at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate where she shot a career-best one-over par 217.
 
Gomez (Huixquilucan, Mexico) is tied for the team lead with a 90.7 count percentage. Her career count percentage is 88.9% in 18 starts.

Sato (Utsunomiya, Japan) battled injuries during the fall season, but finished with her best performance at The Clash at Boulder Creek where she shot a three-over-par 219. She tied for 38th out of 63 golfers at the San Diego State Classic

The Meadow Club, located in Fairfax, Calif., was the first course in North American designed by famed course architect Dr. Alister MacKenzie. The par-72 course will be set at 6,157 yards. The Aztecs will start on holes 16-18, paired with Denver and Colorado.

The forecast for both days calls for light rain and temperatures in the low 50's.
