SAN DIEGO – San Diego State had everything working for them in dominant 14-0 run-rule victory over Utah State on Saturday afternoon. The win is the Aztecs' sixth in a row and secures the series victory over the Aggies.

SDSU (15-11, 2-0 Mountain West) plated four runs in the first, two in the second, and exploded for eight in the fourth to top Utah State (15-11, 0-2) in five innings.

It was hot and heavy out the gates for the Aztec offense, sending all nine hitters in the lineup to the plate in the bottom of the first inning leading to four runs. There was no big hits despite the lineup nearly turning over as the runs came in on an error, hit by pitch, sac fly, and bunt single.

Cali Decker had the big swing of the game, launching a two-run home run to center field in the bottom of the second to extend the SDSU lead to six. It is her first home run of the season and sixth as an Aztec.

The six runs was more than enough run support for Cece Cellura in the circle. The freshman moved to 4-1 on the season with four shutout innings, allowing just three hits while striking out three.

Inning number four saw the Aztecs erupt for eight runs on eight hits, sending 14 batters to the plate. Lala Macario recorded her third hit of the day, an RBI single, to get the scoring started. Makena Brocki singled home Macario, followed by a two-RBI single from Alyssa Garcia. Two batters later, Katie Goldberg doubled down the right field to drive in another and then came in to score on a pinch hit RBI knock from Jeweliana Perez. Kate Farren plated two more with a pinch hit single of her own to cap off the monster inning.

With the run-rule in effect, Cassidy West took over in the circle and worked around a two-out single for a shutout fifth inning to secure the 14-0 win.

Macario recorded her third three-hit game of the season, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI. Goldberg went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBI while Macey Keester was 2-for-3 with two runs scored to round out the trio of multi-hit efforts.

Garcia notched her first multi-RBI game of the season with three. Three Aztecs had two RBI with Decker, Brocki and Farren each driving in a pair.

San Diego State will look for the sweep in a Sunday matinee with the Aggies. First pitch will be at 12 p.m. live on Mountain West Network.
