Aztecs Fall to Dartmouth 20-8

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Aztec lacrosse team fell to Dartmouth 20-8 Friday evening. Sara Toner led the Aztecs with two goals.

The Big Green (4-2) outshot the Aztecs (1-8) 33-23 and 29-16 in shots on goal. SDSU was 3-8 in extra-man opportunities, while Dartmouth was 5-7.

Sara Toner, Kate Christos, and Frankie Garcia each had two points. Toner from two goals, and Christos and Garcia from one goal and one assist. Four other Aztecs had one goal each. Goalkeeper Caitlin Boughton had six saves and 11 goals allowed on 17 shots faced, and Avery Dyer had four saves and nine goals allowed on 16 shots faced.

The Big Green had nine different athletes score, led by Catherine Erb and Maja Desmond with four goals each. Katina Christensen and Fiona O'Keeffe led the team with three assists each. Maya Kendall led the Big Green with 13 draw controls. Goalkeeper Gisele Todd had five saves and six goals allowed on 16 shots faced.

"I had a couple of coaching errors that cost us a couple green cards since we're trying to make so many changes. This is something that we haven't experienced but I will say, every practice, our team steps out on that field and continues to work hard. I think the character of this program, of this group, they're never going to give up. They're amazing women." says Head Coach Kylee White.

THE NOTE
The Aztecs' nine turnovers are the least amount of turnovers they've had in a game this season.
