SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's basketball team hosts Air Force Wednesday at 6 p.m.
 
Aztec Tidbits
• SDSU's coming off a 90-62 win over Utah State Saturday.
• The Aztecs posted season-highs in points (90), field goal percentage (53.1%), rebounds (49), rebound margin (+20) and bench points (36).
• This was the first time SDSU has ever scored 90 points while shooting 53% or better from the field in a Mountain West game.
• This was also the first time the Aztecs scored 90 points while bringing in 49 or more rebounds in a Mountain West game.
• It was SDSU's second straight game shooting at least 52% from the field.
• The Aztecs have averaged 31 bench points over their last two games. Freshman Mia Davis scored 17 points against Utah State Saturday.
• SDSU is averaging just 13.0 turnovers per game, the 23rd fewest in the nation
• The Aztecs are second in the Mountain West in conference games in scoring offense, averaging 67.1 points per game.
• SDSU is 6-2 in their last eight games. In their six wins, they are forcing 20.2 turnovers per game. In their two losses, they forced just 11.0 turnovers per game.
• The Aztecs lead the Mountain West in free throws made per game (12.7) and are second in attempts (16.6 per game). They are shooting 76.6% from the line.
• SDSU has four players averaging at least 10 points per game: Adryana Quezada (14.6), Abby Prohaska (11.0), Kim Villalobos (10.6) and Jada Lewis (10.5).
• The Aztecs have had 10 different players score in double-digits this year.
• SDSU's typical starting lineup features two sixth year seniors (Barcello and Prohaska), two fifth year seniors (Lewis and Quezada) and a fourth-year senior (Villalobos). This is believed to be the most experienced starting five in the nation.
Adryana Quezada is one of six players in the nation to have at least 1,200 points, 600 rebounds and 100 assists in their career while averaging at least 14.0 points per game and shooting at least 52% from the field.
Abby Prohaska leads the conference in free throw percentage of 86.0%, while Quezada leads the Mountain West in conference play (83.3%).
Jada Lewis has scored in double-digits in four straight games. Over that span, she is averaging 14.0 points per game and shooting 60.1% (14-23) from three.
• Over the last two seasons, the Aztecs are 25-7 at home and 19-7 in non-conference games.
• SDSU won at least nine non-conference games for the second season in a row. It's the first time they've done that in back-to-back seasons since 2011-12 and 2012-13.
• All four of SDSU's 2024 recruits were nominated for the McDonald's All-American game: guards Kaelyn Hamilton (McKinney, Texas), Natalia Martinez (San Leandro, Calif.) and Naomi Panganiban (La Jolla, Calif.) and forward Bailey Barnhard (San Diego).
• SDSU has gone to overtime four times this season, tied for the most in program history. They didn't go to OT once last season.
 
Opponent Notebook (Air Force)
• The Falcons are 12-15 on the year and 5-9 in conference.
• They are 4-7 on the road.
• They average 11.2 steals per game, the most in the conference.
• They are last in the conference in field goal percentage defense (46%) and rebounds per game (32.0).
• They have a rebound margin of -6-1 per game.
• Milahnie Perry leads the Falcons with 16.9 points per game.
• Taylor Britt averages 2.3 steals per game, the second most in the conference.
• Jayda McNabb's 4.0 offensive rebounds per game are the 15th most in the nation.
• Head coach Chris Gobrecht is in her 9th season at Air Force and 43rd overall. She has previously coached at Cal State Fullerton (1979-85), Washington (195-96), Florida State (1996-97), USC (1997-04) and Yale (2005-15).
• SDSU leads the all-time series 38-16 and is 19-7 against the Falcons at home.
• The Falcons have won five of the past six meetings, including a 71-63 overtime win in Colorado Springs last month.
 
Player Notes
Adryana Quezada (Frisco, Texas) is shooting a career-high 54.7% from the floor, which is fourth in the MW.
• She has scored in double-digits in all but four games and has led SDSU in scoring 16 times.
• Last week Quezada passed 1,200 career points and reached 600 rebounds for her career.
• Against Penn, she became the first Aztec since 2020, and just seventh in the Mountain West era, to have at least 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists in a game. Out of those seven, Quezada accomplished the feat in the fewest number of minutes.
• In conference play, Kim Villalobos (Los Angeles), is fifth in the Mountain West in rebounding (7.3 rpg) and steals (1.6 spg) and eighth in blocks (1.0 bpg). She is the only player in the conference in the top 10 in all three categories.
• Villalobos is the first post player to lead SDSU in steals since Khristina Hunter in the 2014-15 season.
• Against Utah State last Saturday, Villalobos became just the fifth Aztec ever to have at least eight rebounds, six assists and three steals in a Mountain West game.
• Villalobos has nine career double-doubles and five of them have happened since the beginning of conference play.
• Villalobos stuffed the stat sheet vs. Westcliff earlier this year and became just the second Aztec in the Mountain West era (1999-present) to have at least 15 points, seven rebounds, six steals and five assists in a game, joining SDSU Hall of Famer Jené Morris.
Abby Prohaska (Liberty Township, Ohio) leads the Mountain West in free throw percentage (86.0%) this season. She has shot 85.3% from the line in her career and 86.6% while at SDSU.
• Prohaska is averaging career-highs in minutes, points, rebounds, assists, and three-point percentage.
• Last Saturday, Quezada collected her 600th career rebound, and Villalobos and Prohaska passed 900 and 700 points in their respective careers.
Jada Lewis (Rocklin, Calif.) is making 2.2 three-pointers per game, fourth in the Mountain West. She has made at least three three-pointers in four straight games.
• Lewis, who played her first four years at Portland State, has made 264 three-pointers in her career. The SDSU record is 249 by Jamey Cox (2000-03).
• Lewis is 78-for-90 (86.7%) from the free throw line in her career.
Sarah Barcello (Phoenix, Ariz.) is leading the team in minutes (32.2) in conference play.
• Barcello is averaging career-highs in minutes per game (30.9) and field goal percentage (.448) and her three-point percentage of 35.8% is her best since her freshman year at Marist (41% in 2018-19).
• Five Aztecs are shooting at least 35% from three in conference play: Alyssa Jackson (46.7%) and Quezada (46.2%), Mia Davis (45.2%), Barcello (38.5%) and Jada Lewis (37.2%)
Mia Davis (Phoenix, Ariz.) had 17 points against Utah State last Saturday, one off her career-high of 18 that also came against Utah State.
• Against Utah State last month, Davis became just the second Aztec freshman in the Mountain West era (1999-2024) to make five or more threes in a half.
Alyssa Jackson (Fairfield, Calif.) had a career-high 10 points vs. Utah State Saturday.
Jazlen Green (Upland, Calif.) joined the Aztecs after the semester break and made her first start for the Aztecs Saturday. She averaged 9.1 points and made 97 threes in 51 games at Cal.
