Aztecs Cruise to 90-62 Win Over Utah State

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women's basketball team (17-10, 8-6) cruised to a 90-62 win over Utah State (4-21, 1-13) inside Viejas Arena Saturday afternoon. SDSU had five players score in double-digits and their 90 points was a season-high.

"We were clicking on offense today and shot the ball really well," Head coach Stacie Terry-Hutson said after the game. "We did a good job sharing the ball and getting the ball inside and initiating contact."

Mia Davis led the Aztecs with 17 points, one off her career-high that also came against Utah State. Abby Prohaska had 16 and seven rebounds, Adryana Quezada had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, Jada Lewis had 15 points on five made threes and Alyssa Jackson had a career-high 10 points. Additionally, Kim Villalobos stuffed the stat sheet with eight points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals.

It was a wire-to-wire win for the Aztecs after they started the game on a 9-0 run. SDSU had trailed by double-digits in the first half in each of their last two games.

SDSU built their lead up to 15 in the second quarter and then led by double-digits the rest of the way. The Aztecs scored 27 points in the third quarter, their highest in a quarter this year.

SDSU outscored Utah State 36-16 in the paint, running their offense through Quezada and Villalobos.

"Adryana and Kim have been staples for us down low all year," Terry-Hutson explained. "That's always our emphasis and we have been working on that in practice."

Utah State was led by Cheyenne Stubbs 22 points.

The Aztecs shot 53.1% from the field, their highest field goal percentage in a game since Feb. 11, 2023 (56.0% vs. San Jose State).
