SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's basketball team plays at Nevada at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
 
Aztec Tidbits
• SDSU has won five of their last six games. The Aztecs average margin of victory in those five games is 11.8 points.
• The Aztecs are coming off a 63-62 win at San Jose State Saturday. Jada Lewis scored the game-winner with eight seconds left.
• SDSU has overcome deficits of at least nine points in each of their last two games, both wins. The Aztecs trailed by as much as 12 points in their win at SJSU Saturday.
• Lewis and Adryana Quezada led SDSU with 15 points each. Kim Villalobos (14) and Sarah Barcello (10) also scored in double-digits.
• SDSU is averaging just 12.9 turnovers per game, the 21st fewest in the nation
• The Aztecs are second in the Mountain West in conference games in scoring, averaging 64.9 points per game.
• In SDSU's last four wins, they are forcing 21.4 turnovers per game which has led to 23.0 points per game.
• The Aztecs lead the Mountain West in free throws made per game (12.6) and are second in attempts (16.2 per game). They are shooting 77.5% from the line (24th in the nation)
• SDSU has four players averaging at least 10 points per game: Adryana Quezada (14.6), Kim Villalobos (10.9), Abby Prohaska (10.7), and Jada Lewis (10.3).
• The Aztecs have had eight different players score in double-digits this year.
• SDSU's starting lineup features two sixth year seniors (Barcello and Prohaska), two fifth year seniors (Lewis and Quezada) and a fourth-year senior (Villalobos). This is believed to be the most experienced starting five in the nation.
• In conference play, Villalobos is averaging 12.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. Her 7.8 rebounds per game are the fourth most in the conference.
Adryana Quezada is one of six players in the nation to have at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 100 assists in their career while averaging at least 14.0 points per game and shooting at least 52% from the field.
• Quezada is third in the Mountain West in field goal percentage (54.4%) and fourth in free throw percentage (78.9%).
Abby Prohaska leads the conference in free throw percentage of 85.9%.
Jazlen Green, who joined the Aztecs at the semester break, made her season debut vs. New Mexico Wednesday. It was her first game March 2, 2022 with Cal.
• The Aztecs are currently in fifth place in the Mountain West with a 7-5 record. They are half a game behind Boise State for fourth place and one game behind New Mexico for third place. Their 16 wins overall are tied for the third most in the conference.
• Over the last two seasons, the Aztecs are 24-7 at home and 19-7 in non-conference games.
• SDSU won at least nine non-conference games for the second season in a row. It's the first time they've done that in back-to-back seasons since 2011-12 and 2012-13.
• SDSU has gone to overtime four times this season, tied for the most in program history. They didn't go to OT once last season.
• All four of SDSU's 2024 recruits were nominated for the McDonald's All-American game: guards Kaelyn Hamilton (McKinney, Texas), Natalia Martinez (San Leandro, Calif.) and Naomi Panganiban (La Jolla, Calif.) and forward Bailey Barnhard (San Diego).
 
Player Notes
• In conference play, Kim Villalobos (Los Angeles), is fourth in the Mountain West in rebounding (7.8 rpg), fifth in steals (1.6 spg) and eighth in blocks (1.0 bpg). She is the only player in the conference in the top eight in all three categories.
• Villalobos is the first post player to lead SDSU in steals since Khristina Hunter in the 2014-15 season.
• Villalobos enters the week with 897 career points.
• Villalobos has nine career double-doubles and five of them have happened since the beginning of conference play.
• Villalobos stuffed the stat sheet vs. Westcliff earlier this year and became just the second Aztec in the Mountain West era (1999-present) to have at least 15 points, seven rebounds, six steals and five assists in a game, joining SDSU Hall of Famer Jené Morris.
Adryana Quezada (Frisco, Texas) is shooting a career-high 54.4% from the floor, which is fourth in the MW.
• She has scored in double-digits in all but four games and has led SDSU in scoring 15 times.
• Quezada is shooting 84.2% from the free throw line in conference play, the best amongst qualified players.
• Against Penn, she became the first Aztec since 2020, and just seventh in the Mountain West era, to have at least 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists in a game. Out of those seven, Quezada accomplished the feat in the fewest number of minutes.
• Both Villalobos and Quezada are less than 20 rebounds way from 600 in their career.
Jada Lewis (Rocklin, Calif.) is 78-for-90 (86.7%) from the free throw line in her career.
• Lewis, who played her first four years at Portland State, has made 256 three-pointers in her career. The SDSU record is 249 by Jamey Cox (2000-03).
Abby Prohaska (Liberty Township, Ohio) leads the Mountain West in free throw percentage (85.9%) this season. She has shot 85.1% from the line in her career (160-188) and 86.5% (115-133) while at SDSU.
• Prohaska is averaging career-highs in minutes, points, rebounds, assists, and three-point percentage.
Sarah Barcello (Phoenix, Ariz.) is leading the team in minutes (32.8) in conference play.
• Barcello is averaging career-highs in minutes per game (31.2) and field goal percentage (.450) and her three-point percentage of 36.3% is her best since her freshman year at Marist (41% in 2018-19).
• Four Aztecs are shooting at least 35% from three in conference play: Quezada (50%), Alyssa Jackson (46.2%), Mia Davis (45.8%) and Barcello (39.5%).
• Against Utah State, Mia Davis became just the second Aztec freshman in the Mountain West era (1999-2024) to make five or more threes in a half.
Jazlen Green (Upland, Calif.) joined the Aztecs after the semester break and has played the last two games. She averaged 9.1 points and made 97 threes in 51 games at Cal.
 
Opponent Notebook (Nevada)
• The Wolf Pack are 12-12 overall and 6-5 in conference.
• They are in sixth place in the Mountain West, a half-game behind the Aztecs.
• They are 6-5 at home.
• They are coming off a 62-56 win at Air Force. Prior to that, they had lost three games in a row.
• They lead the conference in turnovers forced per game (19.8), turnover margin (+5.0) and offensive rebounds per game (13.4).
• They are last in the Mountain West in free throw percentage (67.4%) and second to last in field goal percentage (38.1%)
• Audrey Roden leads the team in scoring (11.9 ppg), steals and assists.
• Head coach Amanda Levens is in her seventh season at Nevada.
• The Aztecs lead the all-time series 16-14.
• SDSU is 4-10 at Nevada.
• The Aztecs won at Nevada 67-51 last year, but prior to that they had lost eight straight in Reno.
