SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's basketball team (11-5, 2-1 MW) heads to Wyoming (8-6, 3-0) Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m. PT to take on the Cowgirls who are undefeated through three games of league play.
 
Aztec Tidbits
• The Aztecs are coming off a 77-70 home win over Fresno State Sunday.
• SDSU has won 11 of their last 14 games.
Adryana Quezada and Kim Villalobos paced the Aztecs with 18 points each. Villalobos also brought in 13 rebounds for her second straight double-double.
• The Aztecs are averaging 41.0 points in the paint over the last two games.
• The Aztecs' 11 wins are the second-most in the Mountain West.
• SDSU is leading the Mountain West in rebounds per game (45.3) and rebound margin (+10/game) in conference play, despite not having a player taller than 6'.
• SDSU has four players averaging at least 10 points per game: Adryana Quezada (14.8), Abby Prohaska (11.8), Jada Lewis (1103) and Kim Villalobos (10.6). 
• The Aztecs are committing just 12.7 turnovers per game, 19th in the nation.
• SDSU is second in the conference in free throws made (12.8) and attempted (16.7) per game and their free throw percentage of 76.4% is 31st in the nation.
• The Aztecs have had five different players lead the team in scoring this year.
• The Aztecs commit just 14.1 fouls per game (33rd in the nation) and make 4.0 more free throws per game than their opponents.
• SDSU's starting lineup features two sixth year seniors (Barcello and Prohaska), two fifth year seniors (Lewis and Quezada) and a fourth-year senior (Villalobos). This is believed to be the most experienced starting five in the nation.
Adryana Quezada is one of seven players in the nation to have at least 1,000 points and 500 career rebounds while averaging at least 14.0 points per game and shooting at least 52% from the field.
 • Quezada is third in the Mountain West in field goal percentage (56.6%)
Kim Villalobos is leading the conference with 11.7 rebounds per game in Mountain West play.
Abby Prohaska leads the conference with a free throw percentage of 89.1%.
• Over the last two seasons, the Aztecs are 21-6 at home and 19-7 in non-conference games.
• SDSU won at least nine non-conference games for the second season in a row. It's the first time they've done that in back-to-back seasons since 2011-12 and 2012-13.
• SDSU has gone to overtime four times this season, tied for the most in program history. They didn't go to overtime once last season.
• SDSU announced the signings of four recruits to National Letters of Intent: guards Kaelyn Hamilton (McKinney, Texas), Natalia Martinez (San Leandro, Calif.) and Naomi Panganiban (San Diego) and forward Bailey Barnhard (San Diego).
 
Player Notes
Adryana Quezada (Frisco, Texas) is shooting a career-high 56.6% from the floor, which is third in the Mountain West.
• She has scored in double-digits in 14 of SDSU's 16 games.
• Against Penn, she became the first Aztec since 2020, and just seventh in the Mountain West era, to have at least 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists in a game. Out of those seven, Quezada accomplished the feat in the fewest number of minutes.
Abby Prohaska (Liberty Township, Ohio) leads the Mountain West and is 21st in the nation in free throw percentage (89.1%) this season. She has shot 86.1% from the line in her career (143-166) and 88.3% (98-111) while at SDSU.
• Prohaska is averaging career-highs in minutes, points, rebounds, assists and three-point percentage.
Kim Villalobos (Los Angeles), SDSU's starting forward, leads the Aztecs in assists, blocks and steals.
• Villalobos is averaging 14.3 points and 11.7 rebounds in conference play. She has recorded a double-double in back-to-back games for the first time in her career.
• Villalobos made a career-high eight free throws vs. Fresno State.
• Villalobos stuffed the stat sheet vs. Westcliff earlier this year and became just the second Aztec in the Mountain West era (1999-present) to have at least 15 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals and 5 assists in a game, joining SDSU Hall of Famer Jené Morris.
Khylee Pepe (Long Beach, Calif.), SDSU's backup post, has had at least one steal in 12 of SDSU's 16 games.
Jada Lewis (Rocklin, Calif.) is 67-for-78 (85.9%) from the free throw line in her career.
• Lewis is second in the Mountain West in minutes per game (34.6).
Sarah Barcello (Phoenix, Ariz.) had 14 points vs. Fresno State, her highest total as an Aztec.
• Barcello is playing a career-high 31.2 minutes per game, the second highest on the team.
Meghan Fiso (Seattle, Wash.) tied a career-high with five rebounds vs. Fresno State.
Jazlen Green (Upland, Calif.) joined the Aztecs after the semester break. She averaged 9.1 points and made 97 threes in 51 games at Cal.
 
Opponent Notebook (Wyoming)
• The Cowgirls are 8-6 on the year.
• They are 4-2 at home.
• They won their first three Mountain West games, beating Boise State (61-47), Utah State (54-48) and Air Force (68-51).
• Their NET ranking of 107 is third in the Mountain West.
• They commit 13.6 turnovers per game, but only force 12.2.
• Allyson Fertig leads the Cowboys with 13.9 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. She shoots 58% from the floor.
• Head coach Heather Ezell is in her second season as head coach after being a UW assistant for seven seasons.
• Wyoming leads the all-time series 36-30 and has a 23-8 advantage at home.
• The Aztecs won at Laramie last year for the first time since 2015.
• Wyoming has won nine of the last 11 meetings.
