SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's basketball team plays hosts Boise State Saturday at 1 p.m.
 
Aztec Tidbits
• SDSU will be celebrating National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Athletes from Aztec women's teams will be offering free clinics on the concourse starting at 11:30 a.m.
• The Aztecs are coming off a 76-62 win at Utah State. SDSU scored just 26 points in the first half but then exploded for 50 points in the second half, their most in a half this season.
• SDSU had season-highs in offensive rebounds (16) and second chance points (23).
• Four Aztecs scored in double-digits: Adryana Quezada (20), Mia Davis (18), Kim Villalobos (13) and Abby Prohaska (11).
• Davis scored 17 of her 18 points in the second half, which included five three-pointers. She became just the second Aztec freshman in the Mountain West era (25 years) to hit five or more three-pointers in a half (Sophia Ramos).
Abby Prohaska dished out a career-high nine assists, the most by an Aztec since Feb. 11, 2023 (Sophia Ramos).
• SDSU is committing just 12.5 turnovers per game, the 15th fewest in the nation.
• The Aztecs are third in the Mountain West in conference play in rebounds per game (39.1) despite not having a player taller than 6'.
• SDSU has four players averaging at least 10 points per game: Adryana Quezada (15.0), Abby Prohaska (11.2), Kim Villalobos (10.7) and Jada Lewis (10.1).
• The Aztecs have had eight different players score in double-digits this year.
• SDSU's starting lineup features two sixth year seniors (Barcello and Prohaska), two fifth year seniors (Lewis and Quezada) and a fourth-year senior (Villalobos). This is believed to be the most experienced starting five in the nation.
Kim Villalobos has had a double-double in four of the last six games.
• In conference play, Villalobos is averaging 12.3 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.4 blocks per game. Her 8.6 rebounds per game are the third most in the conference.
Adryana Quezada is one of six players in the nation to have at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 100 assists in their career while averaging at least 14.0 points per game and shooting at least 52% from the field.
 • Quezada is fourth in the Mountain West in field goal percentage (54.5%).
Abby Prohaska leads the conference and is 20th in the nation with a free throw percentage of 88.3%.
• SDSU's 13 wins are tied for the third most in the conference.
• Over the last two seasons, the Aztecs are 22-7 at home and 19-7 in non-conference games.
• SDSU won at least nine non-conference games for the second season in a row. It's the first time they've done that in back-to-back seasons since 2011-12 and 2012-13.
• SDSU has gone to overtime four times this season, tied for the most in program history. They didn't go to OT once last season.
• All four of SDSU's 2024 recruits were nominated for the McDonald's All-American game: guards Kaelyn Hamilton (McKinney, Texas), Natalia Martinez (San Leandro, Calif.) and Naomi Panganiban (La Jolla, Calif.) and forward Bailey Barnhard (San Diego).
 
Player Notes
Kim Villalobos (Los Angeles), SDSU's starting forward, leads the Aztecs in assists, blocks and steals.
• In conference play, Villalobos is third in the Mountain West in rebounding (8.6 rpg), sixth in steals (1.8 spg) and sixth in blocks (146 bpg). She is the only player in the conference in the top six in all three categories.
• Villalobos has eight career double-doubles and four of them have come in the last seven games.
• Villalobos stuffed the stat sheet vs. Westcliff earlier this year and became just the second Aztec in the Mountain West era (1999-present) to have at least 15 points, seven rebounds, six steals and five assists in a game, joining SDSU Hall of Famer Jené Morris.
Adryana Quezada (Frisco, Texas) is shooting a career-high 54.5% from the floor, which is fourth in the Mountain West.
• She has scored in double-digits in all but three games. She scored 20 points at Utah State, her former school, on Wednesday. It was her 14th time scoring 20 or more, and third time as an Aztec.
• Quezada is shooting 90.0% from the free throw line in conference play, third amongst qualified players. She was 8-for-8 at Utah State Wednesday.
• Against Penn, she became the first Aztec since 2020, and just seventh in the Mountain West era, to have at least 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists in a game. Out of those seven, Quezada accomplished the feat in the fewest number of minutes.
Jada Lewis (Rocklin, Calif.) is 71-for-82 (86.6%) from the free throw line in her career.
• Lewis tied a career-high with five assists at Utah State Wednesday.
• Lewis is third in the Mountain West in minutes per game (33.5).
• Both Lewis and Quezada have over 1,100 career points.
Abby Prohaska (Liberty Township, Ohio) leads the Mountain West and is 25th in the nation in free throw percentage (88.3%) this season. She has shot 86.0% from the line in her career (147-171) and 87.9% (102-116) while at SDSU.
• Prohaska is averaging career-highs in minutes, points, rebounds, assists and three-point percentage.
Sarah Barcello (Phoenix, Ariz.) is closing in on 800 points for her career. She currently has 797 points.
• Barcello is averaging career-highs in minutes per game (31.6) and field goal percentage (.443) and her three-point percentage of 35.8% is her best since her freshman year at Marist (41% in 2018-19).
Jazlen Green (Upland, Calif.) joined the Aztecs after the semester break. She averaged 9.1 points and made 97 threes in 51 games at Cal.
 
More Mia
• Prior to Mia Davis' (Phoenix, Ariz.) 18 points Wednesday, her career-high was eight points.
• She became just the fifth true freshman in the Mountain West era to make five or more threes in a game and just the second to make five or more in one half.
• Davis also is one of just five Aztecs in the Mountain West to make five or more threes and be 6' or taller.
• She is just the fifth Aztec in the Mountain West era to make five or more threes off the bench. Of those five, she did it in the fewest minutes (21).
• Davis also set a career high with three steals.
 
Opponent Notebook (Boise State)
• The Broncos are 13-7 on the year and 4-3 in Mountain West play.
• They are 3-3 on the road.
• They are coming off an 84-63 loss to UNLV. Prior to that they won four games in a row.
• Their NET ranking of 128 is fourth in the Mountain West (SDSU is fifth).
• They are third in the nation in blocks per game (6.6) led by Abby Muse whose 3.4 blocks per game is second in the nation.
• They are holding opponents to 57,2 points per game, the best in the conference.
• They average 41.3 rebounds per game, 6.5 more per game than their opponent.
• Natalie Pasco averaged 13.9 points per game and is shooting 44% from three.
• Head coach Gordy Presnell is in his 19th year at Boise State and 37th year overall. He has over 700 wins in his career.
• Boise State leads the all-time series 14-12.
• SDSU is 8-4 all-time vs. the Broncos in San Diego.
• Boise State won the first meeting 68-59 two weeks ago in Boise. The Aztecs were down 27-9 at the end of the first quarter but outscored the Broncos 40-28 in the second half and got within six points late in the game.
