SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's basketball team (11-7, 2-3 MW) returns home to take on No. 25/23 UNLV Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. for SDSU's Field Trip game.
 
Aztec Tidbits
• This is SDSU's second field trip game of the year and their second time playing a ranked team (No. 3/3 Stanford).
• The Aztecs are coming off a 68-59 loss at Boise State Saturday. SDSU fell behind big early but outscored the Broncos 40-28 in the second half.
Kim Villalobos led SDSU with 15 points and 11 rebounds, her third double-double in the last four games.
• The Aztecs held Boise State to 16 points in the paint, the second fewest they have allowed this season.
• SDSU's 11 wins are tied for the second-most in the Mountain West.
• The Aztecs are committing just 12.2 turnovers per game, the 12th fewest in the nation. They have had less than 10 turnovers in four of their last six games.
• The Aztecs are averaging 40.2 rebounds per game in conference play despite not having a player taller than 6'.
• SDSU has four players averaging at least 10 points per game: Adryana Quezada (14.5), Abby Prohaska (11.8), Jada Lewis (10.8) and Kim Villalobos (10.7). 
• The Aztecs have had seven different players score in double-digits this year.
• SDSU's typical starting lineup features two sixth year seniors (Barcello and Prohaska), two fifth year seniors (Lewis and Quezada) and a fourth-year senior (Villalobos). This is believed to be the most experienced starting five in the nation.
Adryana Quezada is one of seven players in the nation to have at least 1,000 points and 500 career rebounds while averaging at least 14.0 points per game and shooting at least 52% from the field.
 • Quezada is fourth in the Mountain West in field goal percentage (55.6%).
Kim Villalobos is second in the conference with 9.6 rebounds per game in Mountain West play. She is leading the Aztecs in scoring in conference games (13.0 ppg).
Abby Prohaska leads the conference with a free throw percentage of 89.1%.
• Over the last two seasons, the Aztecs are 21-6 at home and 19-7 in non-conference games.
• SDSU won at least nine non-conference games for the second season in a row. It's the first time they've done that in back-to-back seasons since 2011-12 and 2012-13.
• SDSU has gone to overtime four times this season, tied for the most in program history. They didn't go to OT once last season.
• All four of SDSU's 2024 recruits were nominated for the McDonald's All-American game: guards Kaelyn Hamilton (McKinney, Texas), Natalia Martinez (San Leandro, Calif.) and Naomi Panganiban (La Jolla, Calif.) and forward Bailey Barnhard (San Diego).
 
Player Notes
Adryana Quezada (Frisco, Texas) is shooting a career-high 55.6% from the floor, which is third in the Mountain West.
• She has scored in double-digits in all but three games and has shot at least 50% from the field in all but five games.
• Against Penn, she became the first Aztec since 2020, and just seventh in the Mountain West era, to have at least 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists in a game. Out of those seven, Quezada accomplished the feat in the fewest number of minutes.
Abby Prohaska (Liberty Township, Ohio) leads the Mountain West and is 21st in the nation in free throw percentage (89.1%) this season. She has shot 86.1% from the line in her career (143-166) and 88.3% (98-111) while at SDSU.
• Prohaska is averaging career-highs in minutes, points, rebounds, assists and three-point percentage.
Kim Villalobos (Los Angeles), SDSU's starting forward, leads the Aztecs in assists, blocks and steals.
• Villalobos is averaging 13.0 points and 9.5 rebounds in conference play.
• Villalobos stuffed the stat sheet vs. Westcliff earlier this year and became just the second Aztec in the Mountain West era (1999-present) to have at least 15 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals and 5 assists in a game, joining SDSU Hall of Famer Jené Morris.
Jada Lewis (Rocklin, Calif.) is 67-for-78 (85.9%) from the free throw line in her career.
• In her career, Lewis has 1,099 points, 396 rebounds and 99 steals.
• Lewis is third in the Mountain West in minutes per game (34.1).
Sarah Barcello (Phoenix, Ariz.) made four three-pointers at Boise State, this tied a career-high and was her most made threes in a game as an Aztec.
• Barcello is playing a career-high 31.3 minutes per game, the second highest on the team.
• Freshman Alyssa Jackson (Fairfield, Calif.) tied career-highs with five rebounds and two assists at Boise State.
• Freshman Mia Davis (Phoenix, Ariz) recorded her first career steal at Boise State.
Jazlen Green (Upland, Calif.) joined the Aztecs after the semester break. She averaged 9.1 points and made 97 threes in 51 games at Cal.
 
Opponent Notebook (UNLV)
• The Rebels are 14-1 overall and 4-0 in conference.
• They are ranked No. 25 in the AP poll and No. 23 in the Coaches poll.
• They are 7-1 on the road.
• Their NET ranking of 29, is the second highest among mid-major programs.
• They are 45-3 over the past two seasons.
• They are top five in the nation in turnovers per game (10.6), free throw percentage (81.1%) and assist-to-turnover ratio (+1.57).
• They are scoring 82.8 points per game (14th in the nation) and outscoring their opponents by 20.8 points per game.
• Desi-Rae Young is averaging 19.5 points on 56% shooting and brings in 8.7 rebounds per game.
• Head coach Lindy La Rocque (4th Year) is a two-time Mountain West Coach of the Year.
• UNLV leads the all-time series 39-28.
• The Rebels have won the last seven meetings and 12 of the last 13.
• UNLV won all three meetings last season, but all every game was decided by single-digits.
