Aztecs Stumble at Wyoming

LARAMIE, Wyo. – The Aztec women's basketball team (11-6, 2-2) lost at Wyoming (9-6, 4-0) 72-55 Wednesday evening. SDSU trailed for nearly the entire night but rallied to pull within three points entering the fourth quarter before the Cowgirls pulled away.

Adryana Quezada paced the Aztecs with 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting and Khylee Pepe scored a season-high 10 points.

Pepe scored all 10 of her points in the opening quarter on 4-for-4 shooting. After trailing by four through 10 minutes, SDSU went on a 7-0 run early in the second quarter to tie it at 21-all.

However, the Cowgirls would never surrender the lead and were able to go up by 11 at the half.

The Aztecs outscored Wyoming 20-12 in the third quarter but were then outscored 21-7 in the final quarter.

Wyoming was led by Tess Barnes' 17 points.

STAT OF THE GAME
SDSU committed just nine turnovers, but that led to 20 Wyoming points.

THE NOTE
Khylee Pepe scored a season-high 10 points.
