SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's basketball team (11-6, 2-2 MW) heads to Boise State (10-6, 1-2) for a Saturday clash at 1 p.m. PT.
 
Aztec Tidbits
• SDSU is coming off a 72-55 loss at first place Wyoming.
• The Aztecs committed just nine turnovers, but the Cowgirls converted that into 20 points, the most points off turnovers SDSU has allowed this season.
Adryana Quezada led SDSU with 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting.
• The Aztecs' 11 wins are tied with New Mexico for the second-most in the Mountain West.
• SDSU is committing just 12.5 turnovers per game, 15th in the nation. They have had less than 10 turnovers in three of their last five games.
• The Aztecs are second in the Mountain West in rebounds per game (41.5) and rebound margin (+6.8/game) in conference play, despite not having a player taller than 6'.
• SDSU commits just 13.8 fouls per game (22nd in the nation) and make 4.2 more free throws per game than their opponents.
• The Aztecs are second in the conference in free throws made (12.5) per game and their free throw percentage of 76.3% is 39th in the nation.
• SDSU has four players averaging at least 10 points per game: Adryana Quezada (15.0), Abby Prohaska (11.8), Jada Lewis (10.9) and Kim Villalobos (10.4). 
• The Aztecs have had five different players lead the team in scoring this year.
• The Aztecs are averaging 35.3 points in the paint over the last three games.
• SDSU's starting lineup features two sixth year seniors (Barcello and Prohaska), two fifth year seniors (Lewis and Quezada) and a fourth-year senior (Villalobos). This is believed to be the most experienced starting five in the nation.
Adryana Quezada is one of seven players in the nation to have at least 1,000 points and 500 career rebounds while averaging at least 14.0 points per game and shooting at least 52% from the field.
 • Quezada is third in the Mountain West in field goal percentage (57.0%).
Kim Villalobos is second in the conference with 9.3 rebounds per game in Mountain West play.
Abby Prohaska leads the conference with a free throw percentage of 89.1%.
• Over the last two seasons, the Aztecs are 21-6 at home and 19-7 in non-conference games.
• SDSU won at least nine non-conference games for the second season in a row. It's the first time they've done that in back-to-back seasons since 2011-12 and 2012-13.
• SDSU has gone to overtime four times this season, tied for the most in program history. They didn't go to OT once last season.
• Three of SDSU's four 2024 recruits were nominated for the McDonald's All-American game: guards Kaelyn Hamilton (McKinney, Texas), Natalia Martinez (San Leandro, Calif.) and forward Bailey Barnhard (San Diego).
 
Player Notes
Adryana Quezada (Frisco, Texas) is shooting a career-high 57.0% from the floor, which is third in the Mountain West.
• She has scored in double-digits in all but two games and has shot at least 50% from the field in all but four games.
• Against Penn, she became the first Aztec since 2020, and just seventh in the Mountain West era, to have at least 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists in a game. Out of those seven, Quezada accomplished the feat in the fewest number of minutes.
Abby Prohaska (Liberty Township, Ohio) leads the Mountain West and is 21st in the nation in free throw percentage (89.1%) this season. She has shot 86.1% from the line in her career (143-166) and 88.3% (98-111) while at SDSU.
• Prohaska is averaging career-highs in minutes, points, rebounds, assists and three-point percentage.
Kim Villalobos (Los Angeles), SDSU's starting forward, leads the Aztecs in assists, blocks and steals.
• Villalobos is averaging 12.5 points and 9.3 rebounds in conference play.
Kim Villalobos surpassed 800 points in her career at Wyoming Wednesday. She is averaging 7.9 points across 101 games.
• Villalobos stuffed the stat sheet vs. Westcliff earlier this year and became just the second Aztec in the Mountain West era (1999-present) to have at least 15 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals and 5 assists in a game, joining SDSU Hall of Famer Jené Morris.
Khylee Pepe (Long Beach, Calif.) had 10 points on 4-for-4 shooting in the first quarter at Wyoming Wednesday. It was the first time in her career making more than one three in a game.
Jada Lewis (Rocklin, Calif.) is 67-for-78 (85.9%) from the free throw line in her career.
• Lewis is second in the Mountain West in minutes per game (34.4).
Sarah Barcello (Phoenix, Ariz.) had 14 points vs. Fresno State, her highest total as an Aztec.
• Barcello is playing a career-high 31.2 minutes per game, the second highest on the team.
Jazlen Green (Upland, Calif.) joined the Aztecs after the semester break. She averaged 9.1 points and made 97 threes in 51 games at Cal.
 
Opponent Notebook (Boise State)
• The Broncos are 10-6 on the year.
• They are 7-1 at home.
• They are 1-2 in the Mountain West to start conference play. They lost to Wyoming (61-47) and Nevada (58-57) and then beat New Mexico (64-56).
• Their NET ranking of 138 is fourth in the Mountain West and one spot ahead of SDSU.
• They are third in the nation in blocks per game (7.0) led by Abby Muse whose 3.6 blocks per game is second in the nation.
• They are holding opponents to 56.0 points per game, the best in the conference.
• They average 41.4 rebounds per game, 6.7 more per game than their opponent.
• Natalie Pasco averaged 13.4 points per game and is shooting 44% from three.
• Head coach Gordy Presnell is in his 19th year at Boise State and 37th year overall. He has over 700 wins in his career.
• Boise State leads the all-time series 13-12 and is 9-3 at home.
• They split their two meetings last year with the home team winning each time.
