SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's basketball team (10-4, 1-0 MW) heads to Air Force (7-7, 0-1 MW) Wednesday for their first conference road game of the season.
Aztec Tidbits
• SDSU is on a six-game winning streak and coming off a thrilling 74-71 overtime win over Colorado State in their Mountain West opener.
• The Aztecs have now won 10 of their last 12 games.
• SDSU was down nine points early in the fourth quarter but then went on a 10-0 run and eventually forced overtime.
• The Aztecs had a +8 rebounding margin, 12 offensive rebounds and a season-high 16 second chance points.
• Abby Prohaska and Jada Lewis both had 22 points and Lewis hit a game-winning three with seven seconds left in overtime.
• It was the first time in nearly two years that SDSU had two players score at least 20 points in a game (Asia Avinger and Mallory Adams vs. Boise State, Jan. 15, 2022)

• SDSU leads the conference with 12.9 made free throws per game and their free throw percentage of 79.0% is 15th in the nation.
• The Aztecs are committing just 12.1 turnovers per game, 14th in the nation.
• SDSU has four players averaging at least 10 points per game: Adryana Quezada (14.5), Abby Prohaska (11.8), Jada Lewis (11.8) and Kim Villalobos (10.1).
• The Aztecs have had five different players lead the team in scoring this year.
• SDSU is averaging 8.5 steals per game and has four players averaging at least one steal per game (Villalobos, Pepe, Quezada and Prohaska). Since the beginning of last year, the Aztecs have had more steals than their opponent in 34 of their 45 games.
• The Aztecs commit just 13.7 fouls per game (23rd in the nation) and attempt 4.6 more free throws per game than their opponents.
• SDSU's starting lineup features two sixth year seniors (Barcello and Prohaska), two fifth year seniors (Lewis and Quezada) and a fourth-year senior (Villalobos). This is believed to be the most experienced starting five in the nation.
• SDSU won at least nine games in non-conference play for the second season in a row. It's the first time they've done that in back-to-back seasons since 2011-12 and 2012-13.
• Over the last two seasons, the Aztecs are 20-6 at home and 19-7 in non-conference games.
• SDSU announced the signings of four recruits to National Letters of Intent: guards Kaelyn Hamilton (McKinney, Texas), Natalia Martinez (San Leandro, Calif.) and Naomi Panganiban (San Diego) and forward Bailey Barnhard (San Diego).
Player Notes
• Adryana Quezada (Frisco, Texas) is shooting a career-high 56.3% from the floor, which is second in the Mountain West.
• She has scored in double-digits in 12 of SDSU's 14 games.
• Against Penn, she became the first Aztec since 2020, and just seventh in the Mountain West era, to have at least 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists in a game. Out of those seven, Quezada accomplished the feat in the fewest number of minutes.
• Abby Prohaska (Liberty Township, Ohio) leads the Mountain West and is 22nd in the nation in free throw percentage (89.8%) this season. She has shot 86.3% from the line in her career (138-160) and 88.6% (93-105) while at SDSU.
• Kim Villalobos (Los Angeles), SDSU's starting forward, leads the Aztecs in assists, blocks and steals.
• She has exactly 500 career rebounds.
• Villalobos stuffed the stat sheet vs. Westcliff earlier this year and became just the second Aztec in the Mountain West era (1999-present) to have at least 15 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals and 5 assists in a game, joining SDSU Hall of Famer Jené Morris.
• Khylee Pepe (Long Beach, Calif.), SDSU's backup post, has had at least one steal in every game but two.
• Jada Lewis (Rocklin, Calif.) is 67-for-78 (85.9%) from the free throw line in her career.
• Lewis is second in the Mountain West in minutes per game (34.5).
• Sarah Barcello (Phoenix, Ariz.) is averaging career best percentages from the field (45.3%) and from the free throw line (81.8%) and her three-point percentage of 32.6% is her best since her freshman year at Marist in 2018-19.
• Barcello had a career-high eight rebounds vs. Colorado State, her 120th career game.
• Meghan Fiso (Seattle, Wash.) led the Aztecs with 13 points vs. Florida Atlantic and set a new career-high with 15 points vs. Penn earlier this season.
• Mia Davis (Phoenix, Ariz.) scored a career-high eight points vs. Florida Atlantic (Dec. 21).
• Emaya Trahan (Los Angeles) scored her first career basket vs. Florida Atlantic (Dec. 21).
